What is this feeling?

For the last 3 hrs or so, I've been getting cycles of what feels like non-stop baby movements with some mm spasms and then sharp jabs to the insides of my vagina and rectum. Anyone else experience anything like this? Not sure if baby is just way overly active tonight or if I'm missing the true "contraction" component because I don't exactly know what to look for or because there's all the other sensations. I've never had painful baby movements like this before; nor have her movements ever come in waves.

    I get those sharp pains too...it sucks, hurts so much.. .im almost 38 weeks

    It could also be babies head pushing down which although painful is very helpful in dilation. At night my little one is very active & sometimes I get sharp pains my doctor said its probably his head hitting the nerves surrounding the cervix.

    I feel your pain, I get the same thing. Its sharp movements and and I too get rectum and hoohah pinched at the same time. I attribute it to something sweet I ate or drank, or simply because she's trying to find her own way out haha.
