Success after IF

Long Time...and a Question for the OADNBC

Hello there! It's been a long while since I've been on here. I haven't updated my sig but the gist is this. After my daughter was born (July 2013), we started IF again in Feb 2014. After 4 rounds of IUI and 2 rounds of IVF (last in Jan 2015), we decided we couldn't handle any more treatment, or failures.
So essentially, unless some divine intervention happens, we're one and done. I keep trying to be OK with it, and slowly it's getting better. But every announcement of a friend expecting number 2, or seeing kids my daughter's age with their new siblings just hurts so much.
I think there's a OADNBC board, but I wanted to reach out to folks here first, and try and connect with some people. Lately, I've got a lot going on in my life, and a few recent announcements have me much more down than usual. So hopefully, I can find a few people to just help me through and share their experiences. And if I should post on the other board instead, that's totally OK.
Thanks ladies!

Re: Long Time...and a Question for the OADNBC

  • I'm not quite there yet, but I'm not optimistic enough that I won't be there soon. If my soon to be done fresh cycle at 41 doesn't work, I'll be oadnbc.

All I can say is that I know people in real life (my older sister included) that have one child, and the child is nothing short of amazing and well adjusted. Your child will be just fine no matter what happens. I'm not sure if I will ever stop feeling jealous of pregant bellies, but I image with time and impending menopause, I'll get over that too.

    Hugs.

  • We have been in your boat. I was told I have PCOS in 1998. I have done so many treatment, meds, shot, test, scopes, ultrasounds, negative pts, that after many years of emotional roller-coasters and lots of heataches and tears, I decided my body had been through enough not to mention our bank account. In January of 2009 we received our first child which we adopted he was 11 months, the next week we received our daughter and another son which we adopted she was 5 and he was 3 and the next we received our first sons sister just 3 days after she was born whom we also adopted. Then in 2011 we received there brother just 10 days after he was born. We are the very proud parents of 5 beautiful children. We are so luck to have them. On June 16th 2015 we received the news we are going to be parents once more. My DD is February 20 2016. I had just gave up we had come to cope with it that our family was complete, And we were ok with that. We left it in HODS Hand That If It Was Ment To Be Then It Would happen. We were past trying and it really never crossed our minds until I started to have symptoms. Don't think that just because you need to stop and let life be that things are over we are living proof that's not the truth. Gof has a plan for you trust in him and put it in his hands that's all you cam do. Good luck to you and I hope this boost your spirits.
  • @trigirl79 hope you don't mind me chiming In here, even though I'm not OADNBC. First off I'm sooo sorry things have been tough lately but I'm so happy to see you back here. It's actually been pretty slow on the board. When is/was your DD's bday?
I recently started using a stress reduction technique that i use for my patients all the time and it seems to help especially when I'm overwhelmed. It's called mindfulness based stress reduction. If you google it you can get more info. But the gist is trying to be more mindful rather than mind full by enjoying the moment and noticing the things around you in the moment. It might just help you during those extra difficult times.
And if youre not interested that's ok too...**hugs**

Just wanted to say hi and I agree with everything in PP. I've been having a lot of stress from work and mindfulness and meditation have been helping me as well. ::hugs::: I'm trying to pop in here more often to be supportive.
IVF, acupuncture, meditation and a miracle.
