Week/fruit/other comparison: 33 weeks and a durian (really, TB, no less smelly fruit to compare my daughter to?)
What went well this past week? I survived my first week on my GD diet, and aside from being bored of eggs and really missing being able to indulge in treats (banana bread, anyone?), it's not so bad. And I lost a pound! At this point, I'm still up 20 lbs from pre-pregnancy, which is a bit more than my ideal, but still healthy. And while I'm not actively trying to lose weight at this point, and I am trying not to worry about it, for a person who was "morbidly obese" based on BMI, losing or ceasing to gain right now feels good. As long as baby's gaining, which she is!
And I started washing all the baby stuff and organizing the kids' drawers yesterday!
What was the greatest challenge this past week?
Sticking to my diet has been challenging, less in the sense that I'm tempted to cheat, but in terms of how much I can't eat right now. And I have a two-year old. So he can sense that something's going on that feels disruptive to his routine, but he can't articulate his feelings, so this equals lots more acting out . . . It's gonna be a long few weeks ahead, I think.
GTKY: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
I'd be a dog. Dogs are smart, loyal, adorable, and they have the ability to melt your heart with just a look. Plus all those cuddles and belly rubs.
What went well this past week? My back isn't bugging me as much as it was right around the 28/29 week mark. There were days I could barely walk, but now I'm back to mostly feeling good again.
What was the greatest challenge this past week? The heat! We are experiencing a heat wave where I'm at right now, and I'm seriously going insane! I feel like I can't cool down, and hate being outside for more than a couple of minutes.

GTKY: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? An eagle. I think they are majestic and beautiful, and I'd love to be able to fly.
Week/fruit/other comparison: 30 weeks a cucumber. Or a large head of cabbage.
What went well this past week? We got the nursery painted and the crib put together.
What was the greatest challenge this past week? I failed my 1 hour test last week so I had to do the 3 hour yesterday. It wasn't that bad but hanging out at the Dr for 3 hours kinda sucked. Luckily my husband came with me to keep me company.
GTKY: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? I would be my cat because she is so spoiled lol
What went well this past week? Made some progress on unpacking. I have my sewing station mostly set up and should be ready to start on the nursery soon.
What was the greatest challenge this past week? Work. Been stressful with students coming back, getting ready for classes, etc.
GTKY: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? A cat. Fits my personality, really, plus I love to climb and run. And sleep all day, of course.
What went well this past week? Our stuff showed up this week. We moved from TN to CO and it has been such a long month of transitioning.
What was the greatest challenge this past week? Can we go back two weeks? It's been a challenging MONTH for that matter. Flew out from TN to CO to sign a lease. The day after, while still in CO with no doctor, no hospital picked out, just a signed lease, I was admitted to the hospital for a kidney infection which turned into passing kidney stones. I ended up staying in the hospital (which I'll deliver at) for three days hooked up to IVs and baby monitors in excruciating pain. When I was released, my husband had to fly back to TN to have the movers pack up our stuff while I stayed at a friend's parents house in CO. He drove out that next week and we were in a hotel for a week waiting for our stuff to get here. Eeek. I'm surprised I haven't gone into preterm labor! But upside, we got a trial run of the hospital and found an awesome, awesome practice.
GTKY: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? A cat. I want to sleep all day everyday for the next week or two. For real.
What went well? Hmmm nothing that stands out things have pretty much stayed the same the last week. Crazy sore in the nether regions but no worse than last week so that's a plus.
Greatest challenge? I turned 30 yesterday and that was rough especially without a glass of wine to toast the end of my 20's. I did have a ghirardelli dark chocolate seasalt Carmel bar though so that softened the blow:)
GTKY? I don't particularly have any desire to be an animal rather than a human but if I had to choose maybe a polar bear. Simply bc the babies are adorable and it doesn't seem like there are a ton of animals who would mess with a full grown polar bear.
Week/fruit/other comparison: 30 weeks -- home stretch! Baby is like a cucumber, which I assume is just a length comparison
What went well this past week? I am back coaching volleyball, and the teaching hours begin in addition to volleyball next week. So far, by day 2, it's gone well! ...but it might be too early to tell. I get up at 4, workout, shower, breakfast, go out to school for the day, run around with the volleyball players for 4.5 hours, and then work on my classroom and curriculum. I have a feeling there is a brick wall coming...
What was the greatest challenge this past week? The greatest challenge was Monday morning. I woke up at 3:37, restless, and I just decided to start the day at that time. That made for one long, jarring start to a busy week!
GTKY: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? I would be a giraffe. I know very little about them overall, but from a distance they appear graceful, relaxed, and kick ass. They can see more from their perspective than I can from mine, so if I get all metaphorical, I'd suggest that I'd like a broader view of the world around me (LA teacher comes out again).
