Re: Pre-admitting

  • You mean like pre registering ? I asked but my doctor office is at the hospital so they said they take care of it :-)

  • I've already pre registered. Just made me feel better that it's one thing less I have to worry about, and can check off the list.
  • I pre-registered months ago! I just wanted it done and out of the way. 1 less thing off my to-do list!

  • I do mine on Friday
  • My office requests we register by 24 weeks (viability for l and d) it is a big relief!

  • I need to pre-register. But all it is for us is filling out a form and sending it in. I already called my insurance and got the pre-approval done, which was the other administrative thing I needed to so.

    Why was it frustrating?
  • I called last week and did it over the phone, so easy.
  • I haven't pre-registered yet. They gave me the paper at 24 weeks (now 31) and I honestly haven't thought twice about it since then. I really need to get on top of that!
  • I haven't done it yet, but intend to call tomorrow to make my appointment. It sounds like it's a bit different at my hospital - here it is a meeting with someone from l&d (a nurse I assume?) who gives you a tour, answers questions, and goes through some preliminary birth plan related info with you (commonly requested things that they can and cannot accommodate).
  • My hospital requires that I wait until 60 days before my due date, so I'll be preregistering next Tuesday.
  • My doctor gave me the paperwork to complete and mail in at 24 weeks, but I haven't given it another thought since she gave it to me... It just seemed so early! I just finished filling it all out though and will turn it in on Sunday when DH and I take a tour of the maternity ward.

  • For my hospital, it's just a matter of filling out a form and sending a copy of your insurance card because if you go into labor and need to immediately start pushing when the baby gets there they will already have your information and don't have to come ask you a million questions to get you admitted.  It is a lot faster and more convenient for both sides.
  • I did mine a few months ago. At my hospital you can do it online. It was pretty easy and convenient.
  • I just did mine today. It basically just asked my name, social, DH's info, our insurance information and employer information. I have to go 30 days before my due date to sign some forms. I remember that being really quick for DS as well.
