Losing MP.. what was your experience?

I'm a FTM and 39.4 today, and just lost MP this morning (sorry if that is TMI!)

I know everyone says this is not a certain indication that baby is coming any time soon. I'm wondering - for all the new mamas and STM or TTM's out there - what was your experience? Did you lose yours and stay pregnant for a few more days? Or was losing yours the start of real labor a few hours later? I'm very much trying not to get my hopes up, but have been having such frequent and uncomfortable BH for weeks that I'm hoping this is the start of something real.

With DS1 I went into labor the next day.. With DS2 I went into labor a couple hours later... 39+4 and still waiting for anything to happen... Haven't lost MP yet- to my knowledge.

I lost mine twice this pregnancy. Once at 35 weeks and it regenerated. Then at 38 weeks and didn't go into labor until a week and a half later. Labor could be soon or not. Contractions and broken water are better indicators. GL!

I've been losing pieces of mine for days. I'm much more concerned about contractions.

I lost it with DS a week and a half before he was born. Then again during real labor. It really doesn't mean anything

I lost mine Thursday morning (40+5) but more pieces came out Friday too. I started having irregular contractions Friday night (well 2 am Saturday really) and through the day Saturday. They became regular and progressing Saturday night (well 2am Sunday) and she was born Sunday afternoon

So for me, it was about 72hrs until birth

I lost mine at 36weeks and nothing. I'm now 38+3. Get lots of period cramping and on/off contractions but nothing productive!

38 +4 lost mine this past Saturday/Sunday. And still nothing. Was having really bad uncomfortable BH from 35 weeks to about 37.5 and then they all of a sudden stopped. My step daughters mama lost her MP with my DSD and two days later went into labor (a day before she was due) and with the LO she just had she lost if but stayed preggo for two more weeks so who knows.

I'm 38 weeks lost mine Friday I've been having contractions I'm hoping labor comes soon but as I've heard it could be today next week or grow back but good luck to you

My 1st 2 I never lost mine until being induced. This time I lost mine and kept losing pieces for just over a week before DS decided to make his appearance. My mom always tells me that when she had my younger brother, she lost hers and he was born 3 weeks later, while her 1st 2 were the next day. I would say that is can be a start, but don't count on it making it happen right away.

Last pregnancy I lost mine right when I started having productive contractions (around 4pm). I went into L&D about 8 hours later and then my DD was born around 7:30 am. Kind of like dilation, it can be a sign or maybe not. So frustrating huh? Hang in there and good luck!

I've lost mine maybe three times this pregnancy it really sucks. With my first two I went in to labor a few days after losing it. I lost mine again earlier today. I'm starting to think this baby will never want to come out.

I'm 40+3 and have yet to lose mine that I know of. I've been checking for it when I go to the bathroom but I haven't seen it. Although I don't turn on the light at night lol. BH/contractions are random but a little more frequent lately because I've been on my birth ball. Baby girl is not wanting to come out.

FTM, currently 41+1. Lost some Monday, Wednesday and Sunday last week after lots of walking, about the size of my thumbnail each time, so unfortunately for me at least it wasn't a sign of an immediately impending labour.

Also been having braxtons for weeks that have gotten way more frequent over the past 2 weeks, especially at night, but still nothing.

I had a sweep yesterday morning and midwife could only get her pinky in but said i was basically fully effaced, she could feel LOs head as soon as she popped her fingers in but before carrying out the sweep. Hopeful she'll come before my scheduled induction Friday!
