brown spotting/discharge 15w5d

Hello. I am almost 16 weeks prego. Ftm and I've had some bleeding throughout my pregnancy where it was super heavy then stopped after a few hrs no cramping no clots and each time baby was fine! But I still have brown spotting. When I while its brown. Sometimes very light then sometimes darker. I have an apt sept 3rd to find out gender. My last u.s was when I was 13 weeks and baby was great. But the brown still scares me. Has anyone else had these issues and what were your outcomes. I'm afraid for the worse.I just don't know what to expect

Re: brown spotting/discharge 15w5d

  • It sounds like you need to go in earlier:( if there hasn't been anything wrong, it's still good to check in with doc. My only experience with bleeding/spotting during pregnancy is a mc; so that's not super encouraging. They are there for you to receive care- especially under these circumstances. Gl!

  • Have you been told where your placenta is? I ask because I had a morning of brown spotting a couple weeks ago and found out my placenta is partially lying on the cervix. My doctor explained that this was likely the reason for it and basically said "no sex, no lifting anything" until my next ultrasound to see if there has been any positive "shifting" of the uterus/placenta.

  • Every time I bled I went to e.r and everything was always good they couldn't tell me where the blood was coming from. But my ob said I had a subchorionic hemerage that was going away so the blood should stop and the brown spotting was a good sign it was old blood and stopping. Well it stops and then comes back. And this has been the entire pregnancy. Its only when I whipe not enough to drop on a pad. But I've never had any cramping or clotting. I keep googling everything which is really not good because there's so many different answers. And its making me worry worse. I am on the heavier side so I don't know what I'm supposed to look like or feel at this stage. Again this is my first pregnancy. I had horrible morning sickness well.more like all day until about 14 weeks then it calmed down a lot. But I still get nauseous here and there . I will be calling in the am to see if I can get a u.s sooner or at least a heartbeat hearing. Just to put me back at ease..
  • I agree with pp, you should get in earlier than your ultrasound. They can monitor it and hopefully ease your fears!
  • If you're concerned, call your doctor.

  • Call the de and get in today. Tell them what happened and they should make room for you on their schedule. It will give you piece of mind that everything is ok. Cramping and spotting can be normal, as you know, but I still wouldn't wait 2 weeks.
  • I'd definitely give the doc a call. Good luck, here's hoping for good news!
  • Call your doctor and see what they say. Hopefully it's no big deal. Good luck.
  • My dr let me know to call them anytime I had spotting to talk to someone. I definitely think it would be best to just check in with your dr about it all.
  • And let us know how the appointment goes today if you do go in.
  • Definitely call your doctor & see about going in. They can give you a definitive answer and you can have some peace. Let us know how it goes. T&P's for you!
