i just left my 39 week appointment and I told my doctor I would like to be induced because I'm in so much pain. I'm 2cm dilated and 75% effaced. He came back in the room and said to come in tonight and I will be induced!! I honestly didn't believe he would say I could be induced so soon and now that it's finally here, I'm excited/scared/nervous! Any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated! I've heard a lot of negative things about inductions so please give me some positive thoughts to go in with! Thank you!
Update below!
Hello ladies! I started pitocin around midnight last night. I started to get the bad menstrual type cramps around 2:30 am and was offered an epidural! I was shocked because I hasn't experienced any real major pain. Apparently if I didn't get it then, the doctor might not have time for me. So I went a head and got the epidural at 3 am. By 8 am, I was only 3 cm dilated and my doctor broke my water. When they checked me at 10 am, I was already 6 cm! By 11:45ish I was 10 cm! I took a nap at that point because they wanted me to labor on for a little bit for her to get lower. I was woken up at 12:30 being told I needed to push. They could see her hair and everything all ready! I pushed for 10-15 minutes and she was here! Whole labor was 12 1/2 hours long and felt no severe contractions! Only downfall was being nauseated from the epidural.
Here is our precious angel Ava London weighing 7 pounds and 19 3/4 inches long!
