Thoughts&Prayers please

LO is 11 days old and has a small dimple on his lower spine(very close to the butt). Doctors don't seem to worry but ultrasound that was done at the hospital was inconclusive, going for an MRI tomorrow, since he is soo young we are trying to avoid sedation and going with food deprivation method( won't feed him two hours before the appt and would give him pumped bottled right before the MRI and would hope he would sleep still through it). I am so nervous, please keep baby Lucas in your thoughts! He moves his limbs and has bowl movement so I don't think spina bifida is the concern but doctors need to check if the dimple is closed up or not. If anyone knows anything about what I'm going through, please share!

My LO also has a small dimple in that area. In the hospital they told me the name of it but I forget it now...I don't know if it's the same thing but they weren't concerned, and she was in the NICU for four weeks so plenty of nurses and doctors saw it. Hopefully it's the same thing for your little guy! Sending thoughts and prayers!

I think it is called sacral dimple, at the hospital 3 doctors saw him( since my pedi) was on vacation and no one was worried& I hope everything is fine'

My DS had this as well. Everything checked out fine at the ultrasound. My doctor said that unless there is a skin tag, hair, or discharge coming from it, then it is unlikely anything. I hope your results are as good!

Both my kids have it. We never had any ultrasounds or anything. We were told the same thing about watching for hair and skin tags etc. We have never had any issues with them...

Interesting, no hair, no tags no odor and nothing comes out it here. Wondering why MRI has to be done. Will keep you guys posted tomorrow. Thank you all for your support!
