Bright red spotting, blood test & ultrasound

So this afternoon I had bright red spotting. I called my dr. And they got me in right away for a emergency ultrasound. Turns out baby is doing fine but no heartbeat yet. But they didn't seem concerned. I believe I'm 5 weeks and 5 days. But they must have seen different, because they just kept saying it was so early. There was a yoc sack, but no actual pole "or baby" again they didn't seem concerned . I was told it was to early to actually see the baby. I only spotted for a few hours and then stopped. They checked my pregnancy hormone and progesterone today and I have to go back Wednesday to do it again. Is this normal? I'm so worried this is the beginning of a miscarriage. Any thoughts?

    I had light spotting my first month. I was about 5 weeks at the time. I even cramped through most of my first trimester. Normal for some. They ask you to come back in a few days later to check your hormone levels because when you're that early, they should be at least doubling every day. Good luck!

    That is scary. T&p for you. You may want to join the April 2016 birth month club as the women in that group will be about as far a long as you and can offer better advice and support. I went through similar things last August. It is scary waiting for the blood work. My best advice is to try to keep busy for the next couple days to keep your mind off of it!
