Cold Meds While BF

i have a call into my doctor, but thought I would ask. Has anyone taken any over the counter cold meds and or allergy meds while BF? I am either getting a summer cold or have horrible allergies and need something to help me make it through the day (especially since my DD wakes up about every 2 hours to eat).

    No decongestants they will dry up your milk

    Allergy medicine is fine, but like the previous poster said, no cold medicines or medicines with decongestants.

    Look for symptom specific cold meds, if it's a cough, gets meds just for cough etc. avoid catch-all cold meds and avoid psuedoephedrine which is what dries up your milk. Try to take meds after baby feeds so by the time they feed again, meds are working their way out of your system. Also avoid long lasting drugs, stick to 4-6 hours, no 12 hour or 24 hour ones!
