hello! im very new to this. first time mom and i am already put in high risk because my baby is measuring 2wks behind in growth. i am 28wk5d. anyone ever experience this and can help out with the depression this is giving me?
28 weeks is not that early to be high risk FYI. If you go on the high risk board you will see many others early. So it's good you don't have to have to worry for too many more weeks. 28 weeks is a good milestone in general too just try to be happy about that! The further you get the better chance of healthy baby!
That said- my baby was measuring small via ultrasound based on head circumference, abdomen and fundal height. Typically that is what is looked at in a growth scan/anatomy scan at 20 weeks. Based on small measurements they had be do another check at 24 weeks. Still measuring small about a week to week and a half behind- although they really don't focus on that as much Bc dates can always be off. What they have been focusing on is the biweekly measurements and just making sure while small/under 10th percentile, that baby is still growing on that same curve. So far that has been the case. I am 29 weeks and have another growth scan Thursday. They should be monitoring you at least biweekly if you are under the 10th percentile for 2 scans in a row (as you are classified as IUGR). You can search that too under high risk for more info and stories. IUGR can happen for many reasons- infections, genetic abnormalities, reversed cord blood flow or bad placenta. If your doc has done the additional testing and is monitoring cord flow/placenta and all is normal, it is likely just small baby. So far that's how it's been for me and hoping will just stay that way. Good luck and keep us posted!
i went to a high risk doctor today and they officially put me on bed rest they told me i cant be doing too much because this can be the cause of my baby not growing in the right percentages he also told me that the babys blood flow isnt goin normal thats why they had to take me off work. or the baby may come early or die in the womb
