Postpartum recovery has been really difficult for me, and it feels like my immune system is shot. I've had an UTI that I was admitted into the ER for (which didn't go away for over a week, symptoms included), I've broken out into hives from head to toe for seemingly no reason, and now I have strep throat. #facepalm
The doctor has put me on antibiotics but they don't seem to be doing anything as my tonsils are still huge (having difficulty talking and swallowing) and I have a fever that only goes down with Extra Strength Tylenol.
The doctor said it might be a virus (mono) causing strep-like symptoms, in which case they can't do anything for me. Which stinks because not only do I feel like a terrible mom, because Im having trouble responding to my LO's needs right away, but I was also suppose to be back in school today.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to alleviate the symptoms? Im drinking as much water, tea, and OJ as I can to stay hydrated and boost my immune system but nothing seems to be working.
Re: Strep throat
They did two cultures - the first came back negative for strep which is why they suggested it could be mono, but they later did a second to determine if what is covering my tonsils is bacterial. They also gave me a weaker antibiotics since I'm allergic to amoxicillin so that might be why Im not seeing results yet.
Fortunately, I just called them and they said I could come in for a steroid injection to reduce the size of my tonsils. So hopefully that will help me get more food in my system and be able to BF my little one more.
