  If you are super stressed then I suggest calling a nurse line or your OB to ease your mind and walk you through what to expect.

  I was induced with my first child at 39 weeks, got an epidural, was in labor for 17 hours and pushed for 3 hours. It was a fairly "easy" birth and I was stressed like you. Giving birth is scary yo.

  I have no idea what Cytotec is....

  I went into labor in my own with my first, and then was induced with my second. I was in labor for for about 7-8 hours both times. I also have no idea what Cytotec is.

  Both my inductions were just fine. I think the less stressed you can be going in the more it will help. I did eventually get epidurals with mine and the rest allowed me to fully dilate and I was able to nap and have energy when it came time to push. If I had to choose between an epidural or a c-section because I wasn't progressing I would choose the epidural first.

  Cytotec is a drug FDA approved for stomach problems. Its use to induce labor is off-label and controversial. Do some research and ask your doctor lots of questions.

  I was induced at 38 weeks with my son. They started me on pitocin and inserted a foley bulb. I was not dialated at all and my cervix was still closed at the start of the induction. The whole process from start til the birth of my son was a little over 12 hours. 1 hour of that was pushing. Overall, it wasn't bad and went better than I expected.
