  I just burp my daughter the usual way with the Brest Friend - put her tummy against my chest and pat her back.

  You don't have to pay their back. I saw my lactation consultant burp him different and asked about it. You put baby against your chest and hold his/her legs up so their knees and legs are up against their tummy and it kinda looks like their back is arched and bum sticking out. The other hand on the side of thiwir head since their face should be to the inside so you can see them and just hold them there. Burps my baby every time and i m not patting his back. As she put it "would you want someone patting your back after you ate?"
  
  For the record I'm not picking in anyone's method I used to pat his back with him again my chest or on his side in the pillow. She just showed me a better way to get the burp out faster cause the knees push the gas up and out. and I'm not disrupting him with pats (he wakes up easy during the day).

  No problem! I had no idea it would work till she took him to weigh after I bf and I asked why she held him like that. She said she was burping him and I was in awe mode lol didn't think there was an easier way that was calmer for baby. He sleeps through burping now lol he wakes easily during the day

  @NewMumzy25 tried it during one of my MOTN feeds & it worked! I think I saw my mom do it the other day also

  I tried it and he spit up all over me, lol! However he did have a really big burp first, ha!

  Lol I'm glad it works helps me keep my little man asleep and sometimes he spits up on me too I've learned to wait a little bit after i take him off to let it settle and the. Burp him and no spit up! Well so far *knock on wood*
