Feeling frustrated

I am 38 weeks and have been having contractions for 4 days. I went to LBAD they said I am contracting every 4-6 minutes but I am still closed. I am doing everything to speed things up but nothing is working. Any advice??? Or is anyone dealing with this too??

  • I had my baby at 38 5 and although I was so happy to meet her and I had a great labor, I wish she would have stayed to 40 weeks. She didn't know how to suck or latch for breastfeeding. It's one of those things that she probably would have been better at had she been 40+ weeks. So there are benefits to your LO cooking longer, hang in there!
  • Nope, unfortunately it's just your body's way of "warming up." The good news is that once it's actually time, due to all the "warming up" your body should progress fairly steadily. That has always been the case for me at least. Hang in there. You're almost at the finish line :)
  • the last days are the longest.  Hang in there and let that baby cook until she is ready.

  • Today I'm officially 40 weeks so I share your frustration & not to add rain to your parade but the anxiety gets worse moving forward especially if you get into false labor. I've walked every night the past 3 weeks, walked stairs, did squats, did the do, all the techniques & my baby boy is still tucked away. Last night I had painful contractions for 6 hours straight that were 5 minutes apart and then when I was hospital ready they just went away. So be patient mama, cause you might even have some false alarms coming but keep in mind your loved one can't stay in there forever. :-\" Good Luck to you !
  • My advice to you is just to enjoy these last few weeks. Sounds crazy, I know. I was induced at 37 weeks for high BP, my body was not ready at all, luckily my baby was just fine with no issues. I was pretty miserable for the last few weeks of my pregnancy but once she was out, I really missed being pregnant. I kind of felt like those last 3-5 weeks that we had together were stolen and I'm still a little bummed about it. I also missed out on spontaneously going in to labor, actually going in to labor at all, and being able to push my baby out. I ended up with a c section because my body wasn't ready. As crazy as it sounds, enjoy it. It will be over before you know it.
