6 weeks PP (c section)

I'm 6 weeks PP, I had a c section.... I had staples.... I still have some spots in my incision that has scabs... I don't scrub my incision when I shower... I just let the soap run over it.. Is this normal at 6 weeks?!?

Re: 6 weeks PP (c section)

  • Hmmm not sure… I also had a C-section but mine was done without Staples

  • I had a csection but no staples... I'm only 3wks pp, but have no scabs. Maybe that is just because I didn't have staples though?
  • I only had glue and I have tiny scabs left. My CS was July 6. Sounds normal to me. I haven't scrubbed the incision either. Just let the water run over like you said.

I am 2 & 1/2 weeks PP & still have little pieces of tape across my incision (which I mentioned above does not include staples) I was told not to remove the tapes and that it would fall off but none of it has yet

Yeah, my steri strips never fell off.  I was still "wearing" them at 5 weeks.  I finally just decided to remove them after reading a bunch of stuff from Dr. Google.

  • My doctor removes any leftover steri strips at the 2 weeks pp appointment. So mine are gone. I don't know if I have scabs as I had twins I'm dealing with some fluid and excess skin issues still but I never had scabs with my first c section.
  • Hmmm...I had no 2 week appointment, just a 6 week in September... :-??
  • At my 2 week appointment I was told I could remove the steri strips whenever I wanted to. I showered that evening, got them good and wet then took them off.
  • I was told to remove the strips if they hadn't fallen off 7 days PP.
  • 2.5 weeks PP and I pulled my stripes off after my 2 week appt. doctor told me to. I waited a few days before doing it but once I pulled them off, everything was completely closed up. Now, as far as scabs go, I don't have any. I have a little glue from the stripes that feels like scabs but when I looked in the mirror, it just looks like glue. I did have staples. The pulled them out when I was leaving the hospital at day 2.
  • I'm 7 weeks pp and I still have a scab. At one end it was bleeding and then scabbed over. I went to my doctor (when bleeding) he said it's perfectly normal.
  • I'm not quite 3 weeks pp after a cs and don't have anything. I had steri strips that got removed last Monday, but no scabs.

  • I had staples. I scabed at both ends of the incisions. I'm 5 weeks PP Monday and they've pretty much healed. I also had strips, I pulled them off once they started to unstick in the center.
  • I had staples and on one end I had what I thought was a scab. I asked my dr at the 4 week appt and she informed me it was not a scab, but a staple coming up through the skin. So maybe double check that they are actually scabs still... I was surprised! But she just pulled it right out for me and it's healed. I'm 5 weeks out now.
  • I'm 11 post c section & had no staples, stitches or steri strip, only glue. A couple days ago I noticed a lump on the left side of my incision. It isnt red and doesn't look infected but kinda worries me. Sid any of yall get a lump?
  • I had staples with either stiches or glue inside. My doctor removed my staples two days post partum. My steri strip were removed at my two week appointment. No scabbing.
  • I am sorry to change the topic a little but I am also 6 weeks PP by c section and I feel more pain and disconfort now than the firstdays and weeks after surgery, now even any loose clothing touching or rubbing against my belly area hurts it is very sensative to any touch. I am going for my check up later this week coming up, but I was just wondering if it is normal or anyone else still feels pain.
  • @eyi715 I am in the exact same boat! I describe my pain, discomfort, soreness as more surface than deep in the tissue. It is very sensitive to clothing...there is a slight stinging sensation...it feels tight & itchy (I am only 3 weeks PP) tonight I placed a heated rice sock across my incision & the heat therapy was very soothing...may try some cold/ice therapy next. My 6 week follow up appointment is September 11th
  • My OB told me to remove the steri strips at my two week appointment to let the wound breath and heal. Get them wet and you can peel them right off.
  • @KAR8706 I was told if you can feel a lump under the skin it is most likely the internal stitches that you would have had. Some may not have dissolved
