Sleep apnea

anybody else have it? What helps you the most?
Oddly enough this is a pregnancy symptom for me. I didn't have it in between my 2 pregnancies, and the moment I got pregnant and gained any more weight, bam! I have a cpap which I hate. I kind of want to ask my doctor for surgery after birth so I don't have to deal with this if we get pregnant again, or it decides to come back for some reason.
Sorry for the SS post. I just haven't seen it discussed here before.

Re: Sleep apnea

  • No advice for you but I would definitely ask for surgery if that would fix it (I have no clue about sleep apnea really). I do know my mother in law has it and she has a cpap machine that she hates but still uses it and she said even though it's a pain she can't believe the difference it makes. But if surgery would fix it I say go for it! No need to keep suffering!

  • Have you tried different masks or changing the ramp on it? Also, some people put it on like 30 minutes before bed to get adjusted to it so they sleep easier. Just some thoughts. You really don't want to obstruct anyway, especially with a tiny human needing that oxygen. It can also cause heart problems for you.
  • I have tried different masks. I found one that works ok on like the 4th try, but not an ideal solution. I still end up sleeping with my son some times and obviously it isn't portable in the middle of the night.
