Scary ER visit with 6 week old!

We're home after an all day trip at the ER. My daughter had breathing and congestion problems allll night, then couldn't keep any milk down this morning. Her temp was 100.1 when I first checked it. We went to the ER after calling her pedi. She was lethargic at that point. They did a chest x-ray, spinal tap, iv drip, iv antibiotics, and a catheter and bloodwork for cultures.
It turns out she has an upper respiratory infection.
After further investigation on my part to figure out where it could have come from, I found out my BIL's GF had 1 all last week. The idiot failed to mention that when she came over and held my baby on Friday. Extremely upset with her right now!
My poor baby seems to have forgotten all about her trip now that we're home. She seems somewhat back to normal now that her fever is gone.
Ask people if they've been sick or had any symptoms of being sick before they're around your baby!!! We had the rule of not allowing anyone into our home if they had been sick. But apparently they think it's okay to withhold it just bc they want to see her! Livid right now! X(

My SIL, her husband and our niece we're going to visit this weekend and on Thursday morning my husband says to me, "So my sister said that "niece's name" seems to be over her virus so they're good to come this weekend still." Um, what?! No one even told me she had been sick. And no they won't be coming. People are so oblivious it's insane. I'd be pissed too if I were you.
My son had 2 spinal in the NICU when he was 3 weeks old. Unfortunately, he did have meningitis and sepsis and pneumonia.
I'm glad your LO is home safe and sound. I personally wouldn't let them come back, even if they are "healthy"...
But, I would still be beyond angry at BIL's GF and would have a few choice words for her....
@jgorley2015 I was in tears and almost blacked out from watching them do the spinal on her.
I plan on putting the fear of God in my BIL's GF! That crap is unacceptable. She knew she had been sick AND had been in the hospital for it. I don't talk to her except when she randomly shows up at my house, so I didn't even know. I should've trusted my instincts and not allowed her to hold her.

I told my BIL's GF that she can't come over until she gets her selfish act together bc it almost killed my baby! She didn't believe me, but her pedi said she could've died if I hadn't reacted with the nasal aspirator. Keep yours close ladies!!! They're literally life savers!!!!
