best portrait studio

Hi yall I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with the studio portrait places like in target and picture people or anything like that? We want to get some 3 month pics done but don't want to spend a ton. The photographer we used for our maternity and NB pics charges $250 for a 3 month session and that just seems high for the 3 month. Thanks!

  • I'm just going to go to Walmart in the next couple of weeks, and likely for the rest of the pictures this year.  Here, you join a club and get discounts on the pictures and some freebies.  I've never been unhappy with any of the family pictures we've had done, and it's more reasonable.  I can use the difference in cost for things for her, or her education fund.

She's finally a reliable smiler, and can hold her head up well, and has an adorable dress the right size, so I figure it's time!  I didn't do NB photos due to the cost.

  • We had great luck with picture people for our sons pictures in his first year. Plus, groupin had frequent specials for our area.

  • we bought a groupon for JC Pennys. it was only $20 for a print and 3 images on a CD. we bought a few extra prints and still paid under $50 total. she took a lot of shots so we had a lot of options. we were happy with them!

We also got a groupon for JCP. It includes a canvas print, and we plan to buy a CD of all the shots for another $90.

We used them in January with my family and loved the pics, so I'm hoping we'll love these as well!
  • I've never taken the kids to a portrait studio so I can't help there. But my suggestion is to invest the money in a good camera and teach your self how to use it. There are so many tutorials on Pinterest to help you learn. I bought a Nikon right before my son turned one and it was the best investment ever. Now I can take my own pics whenever I want!
