Hi I'm 34 weeks as of yesterday and my little guy was diagnosed iugr around 28 weeks. Growth scans and NSTs were going well until yesterday. Looks like I may be delivering within the next week or two. does anyone have experience with delivery at 34-35 weeks with IUGR? I don't know what to expect. How long was the NICU stay and any complications from the IUGR? TIA

I delivered my iugr baby at 34 weeks. I had a c section and he was 3lbs 2oz. He was in the nicu for 4 weeks and came home at about 4lbs. He is a healthy 11 months old today. He's still small but healthy. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant and at my 20 week anatomy scan, they started sending me to see a specialist. My little girl was in less than 10th percentile at the anatomy scan, but went to about 20% at the 23 week scan. I went back 4 weeks later, she was at 52% but went back 5 weeks later and had since ddropped to the 27%. I go back the 17th and if she's fallen further, we're taking her at that point. I'm worried and scared and I know it's not helping.

Im 31 weeks and I'm on the verge of IUGR. I have had high blood pressure with this pregnancy and now my little girl is starting to trend down the growth ladder. She was in the 20th percentile 3 weeks ago and is now a little under the 15 th percentile. I have been high risk due to previous unexplained ptl. My first baby had to be taken at 36 weeks due to not being able to stop my contractions. I have been on makena injection with this baby and was hoping to go to term but the doc says if she gets below 10th percentile we might have to take her early. Is there anything I might can do to help her grow. Doc told me that eating right and exercise and rest is great but at this point with my bp my body just might not be giving her what she needs to grow. I will be referred to a neonatologist in two weeks to get dopplers of my placental arteries and the babies main arteries as well to make sure we are getting the right amount of blood flow. I'm so worried!!

At my 20 week scan last week we found out that my baby girl is healthy but is only in the 7th percentile now. They did not refer me to a specialist but instead said we will need to monitor her closely so the dr said we will do another scan in 6 weeks. But now I'm starting to get worried. Should I of been sent to a specialist? Should I have another scan before 6 more weeks? I haven't worried about anything until now. But I've/ we've been trying for a baby for 3 years and I just want my baby girl to be okay. What do you guys think? What would you do? Should I call and ask to see a specialist? Should I just sit and wait? Any support is greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance! Xoxo

I too was diagnosed with IUGR at 28 weeks. My son was born at 35 weeks 1 day after I received steroids over 48 hours to mature his lungs. He weighed 4lbs 0.7oz at 18.5 inches long. We were lucky that his lungs and heart were uncomplicated. He stayed in the hospital for 12 days since he was having a hard time gaining weight and eating. I was in the hospital for a week since my bp was all over the place. My son came at almost 4lbs. It took us until he was 11 months until he was on any of the growth charts. Today he is 3 years 5 months old and is growing up to be a healthy, normal, energetic boy. You would never know today that he started out his life as a small guy. We are proud of every milestone he reaches with his peers.

I wish I would have had the chance to speak to one of the doctors from the NICU before delivery to understand the possible complications he could have faced. I might have been a little less anxious with the information than just the uncertainty.

Somehow the Dr. never saw my son's IUGR. We had an u/s right before delivery and they told me he would be 4 lbs. Not the case. He was 2lbs 12oz and a total surprise to everyone. The good thing about iugr is that they are small, but not undeveloped Owen received steroids before birth and didn't even need oxygen. He was in the NICU for 21 days, but only needed to be there due to his size. Lots of hugs, I definitely relate to how you're feeling right now.

Sorry to hear that bit at least you are at 34 weeks!!! That's a really good week/ anything beyond 30 is a massive advantage!!

I've not delivered yet. I'm 28 weeks and had scans on Monday. She's not low in percentile yet but I've been seeing a specialist every 4 weeks since I was 16 weeks pregnant coz of low Papp-A.

Babys girl's growth has started to fall. At 24 weeks I was well above the average percentile and sitting almost to high that they were concerned about gestation diabetes.

Thankfully I'm all clear there...but at my scan on Monday she had dropped from well above the average growth percentile to barely on the bottom line of the expected growth.

I've got to go back in at 34 weeks and the call will be made them so I feel for you Mumma.

I see a specialist for ultrasounds and non-stress tests due to being Rh-sensitized. During my first pregnancy, baby was diagnosed with IUGR. I was constantly being monitored anyway, so we just kept taking the measurements every week. My water broke at 39 weeks; labor didn't progress so they induced me (which I hated), but I'm glad I wasn't pressured into an early c-section or anything. She was 5lbs 6oz but perfectly healthy.

29 weeks and being monitored weekly. Everything checking out and looks good so far, so they just think baby is small at this point. Hope to make it at least 10 more weeks giving baby more time to grow!

It's a girl!!! Gabriella Rose decided she was ready at 33w+6 (DD was 10/30) Wanted to beat her mommy who was born at 34 weeks so thankfully was prepped and ready! IUGR baby so came out 4lb9oz. She is in the NICU but breathing on own and starting to latch. So far so good. Will try to feed in am with syringe and see how she does. Then will be able to tell better length of stay. So happy and surprised and praying! Lots of hair!

We just got back from our 34 week ultrasound and the doctor (not my OB) came in and told us he's only a week or so behind on size but his stomach is about 2-3 weeks behind. My OB ordered me to start coming in weekly for NST. My first one is tomorrow. I'm a FTM and 36 y/o, so I knew I was high-risk anyway. Every single other test I've sailed through.
