wow, I forgot how busy taking care of a newborn can be lol I don't even have time to check on "The Bump" at times! Baby girl is 3 weeks young and beautiful! Going out with the hubby and baby girl for the 1st time
I'm so excited because we all can really use some fresh air!! I'm surprised at the amount of energy I still have throughout the day after being up all night because baby didn't want to sleep she just wanted to be all snuggled and cuddled up with me . I love it though
Anyways how are you ladies doing!? I have to go all the way back to page 6 to catch up on all the threads I've missed out on!
Already p.o.'d with dh this morning. Lo was fussy so took her to the living room, he came out at one point because she wouldn't stop crying to ask me to go to the nursery. I may have gone overboard but I told him to f himself. Oops. In my defense 4 hours of sleep total & had already been up 6 hours with her while he gets to sleep all night.
Eta, well we both apologized and made nice. He was great and took her when he got up so I could get some stuff done before he went to work.
We took LO to church for the first time today and she slept through the whole thing, no crying! Yesterday we took our first trip to the grocery store and it was a complete disaster, I forgot to bring a bottle so that didn't fly with baby (understandably!!)
My only other random is I'm getting way too much pleasure out of watching Bachelors in Paradise and I'm excited it's on tonight. It's so trashy but I love it.
@PurpleBookmark oh lord!! Forgetting the bottle is the worst ! I was on the New Jersey transit platform waiting for my train until I realized I forgot her bottles that I already pumped into. So I had to breastfeed her and the train came so I had to unlatch her she was screaming everyone else was just staring at me lol
I've had my immediate and very close family around here and there, which is expected and I don't mind. Now some of my friends are wanting to come by to see the baby and visit… I feel kind of selfish but between breast-feeding, trying to pump a couple times a day, get in a quick shower, and sleep when he sleeps, I would kind of rather them not come. So I have advised & limited them to a very brief visit explaining to them why of course. I guess I just don't feel like I need my friends around right now… Am I a bad person?
So, the night before last, baby woke every 2 hrs and yesterday, when baby took his usual nap from 3pm-6pm, great granny came by so I didn't get my usual nap in. Last night, baby slept from 12am-430am and then wouldn't go back to sleep until around 630am and the only way I could get him back to sleep was by giving him a 2oz bottle. While making the bottle, hubby asked if I wanted him to feed the baby and of course, I've had very little sleep, and I just said no in a sorta mean tone. Hubby, slept on the couch and I feel horrible now! Ugh! I hope he understands!!!
Took my older daughter to a birthday party and her little sister started crying. My boobs leaked thru my pads. I walked around with two wet headlights. Glorious.
@Ckorines oh my!! I leaked today too. But I had the ergo so I just wore her so she would hide my shirt. I never leaked with the first kid and I breast fed him for 15 months.
In other news... Our 17 year old chihuahua fell down the storm drain outside our house. My husband and I pulled up the man hole and he climbed down 10 feet to get him. The dog seems to be ok. But quite shaken. Understandably. My husband broke his finger trying to pry the man hole off. I feel like we could all use a nap.
My baby has been crazy fussy the past 2 days. Right on time for my husband to go back to work. And my mom, who usually tries to "be in the neighborhood" every day and always wants to see him, is going on vacation at the same time. Perfect timing. So I will be completely alone with Mr Fussy. I am dreading it and making a phone list for when I really start to freak out that he won't be quiet for more than 10 minutes at a time.
Thea is now 11 days old and is such a great little baby. She usually sleeps 5-6 hours straight at night, wakes up to eat for thirty minutes, then sleeps for several more hours. I have never actually woken her up for feedings but she is still almost back to her birth weight. We really struggled with breastfeeding for the first week. She would scream and flail her arms around and scratch/hit both of us until I was in tears begging DH to take her away. I now have to swaddle her arms down and the LC showed me to use two pillows to lay her on so that she feels more supported. She is now a very happy eater! Although I don't see how I will ever be able to feed her in public at this point. The last couple of days she has had gas every time I feed her and she will start crying and whip her head back while still latched. It does not feel good. We have tried gas drops and gripe water before and after feedings with no success. I am also cutting back the dairy. I will take any advice you have on this! I feel bad for her little tummy!
@WanderingHeart do you eat a lot of chocolate? They say that affects babies tummies too. Or it could be Caffiene. LO seems good with dairy and Caffiene but chocolate is off limits in big doses
@Tasharchibald I actually have had a lot of chocolate and caffeine! People just keep bringing me candy and Starbucks! Hah I never actually thought about that! I will try to cut back and see if that helps. Thanks!

@corndogrobot we are milk-leaking soul sisters. Glad your pup is okay. And hubby too!
