Too hot when swaddled?

My LO sleeps best when he is swaddled but when I go to change him I've noticed that his stomach is sweaty. We usually only put him in the swaddle with no onesie because we don't want him to get too hot. We keep the AC at 72. Anyone else have this problem? What swaddle do you use? He sleeps best in the Halo Sleepsack.

I kind of wonder the same thing… My mom bought me these really thin stretchy swaddle blankets though that I think are not as hot. I also swaddle my son with his shoulders and arms out… He's a very Handsy guy lol

  • We have a few of those swaddle blankets as well that I might try. I just don't want him to get too hot and it seems like he does get too hot in the sleep sack.
  • I swaddle with Aden and Anais swaddle blankets. Total breathable fabric. I've never even considered swaddling with anything else just because I live in San Diego and it's hot!

  • I worry about this all the time! I too swaddle in Aden & Ansia blankets. But my AC is at 77 and that's the coolest we can go (live in AZ and my bill is already $550). I don't really have a solution but my dr said he is fine like that here.... So I bet in your 72 he is fine

  • Halo has cotton and muslin sleep sacks we currently use the cotyon one because the fleece was too hot for our little hot bsby (he is hot most of the time), the muslin one may be ideal for you! Amazon carries them and maybe Target!
  • We sleep our LO in the halo sack (the thin one, not fleece) in just a diaper. I keep thinking he's too cold. But SO assures me it's the right temp. He'd be so hot with anything else on. Room temp 77, but we also have ceiling fan on
  • We use Aden& Anais as well as Summer brands. Both r very breathable!! We live in AZ so its super hot & we can't keep the AC too low so we swaddle LO and keep the ceiling fan on and she sleeps just fine :)
  • We got a muslin sleep sack too for this reason and it seems to be the answer. She sleeps lots longer now and doesn't seem as sweaty during middle of the night changes. Ours is from Target.
