Can anyone feel their uterus yet?

I'm 10 weeks today and I keep reading stuff like "you may be able to feel your uterus above your pubic bone", but every time I try to feel for it I can't feel anything. Can anyone else feel it? What's it like?

Re: Can anyone feel their uterus yet?

  • I'm almost 11 weeks and I think I can feel mine peeking out from behind my pelvic bone. I make sure I have an empty bladder (tried this without peeing first and almost pissed myself!), lay down on my back, feel the really hard bone of the pelvic bone and then move upwards until it isn't quite as hard as bone but it isn't nearly as soft as belly either.

  • Yes I have too, but this is my 6th pregnancy. I am 11 weeks 1 day.
  • I can--having twins I think that's why. It kinda came out of nowhere this week!

People call me crazy but I have been able to feel mine sense 6 weeks I have a 10 month old so between a resent pregnancy and having an anterior tilt to my uterus and pelvis I've been able to feel the top just above the public bone. I was surprised when I felt it. But excited to feel it again so soon . Also got the hear lo's heart early too much to my midwives surprise

  • I'm 11+4 and have been able to feel it for a couple weeks already. Oddly enough I can feel it a lot more when I'm standing then when I lay down. I checked with my OB to see if I was correct and she confirmed that it was my uterus!

  • I'm 11+2 and I can't feel mine. Maybe I'm not feeling the right spot. :/ Oh well, four more weeks until my next appointment.
  • I too feel it more when I stand up. My uterus is tipped forward so perhaps that is why
  • When I was pg with my first, my ob showed me where I could feel mine at 8 weeks. So I've always known when to start looking.
  • I just want to say you ladies are the best! I use to be on birth center forums and had to leave because I was getting harassed and bullied for making claims that I could feel my uterus early. But here you guys are so much more sivle and supportive so thank you!
