My parents and younger siblings live in another state and I normally only see them once or twice a year. They came to visit last week, and though I was really happy to see them and spend time together, I was happy to see them leave. I wasn't able to keep my home as clean as I'd like and I'm still washing dishes (they left Tuesday.) Next time, we're using paper plates and plasticware.
Confession - I hate all the posts about weight. Maybe that's more of an unpopular opinion. I side-eye the majority of them because I think they're AWish. i don't think there's anyone here that genuinely cares what your scale says now, what it said pre-pregnancy, or what it will say postpartum.
Note - I'm not talking about posts where people ask for snack/meal suggestions because of a weight related issue. Just the "I weigh this much" or "I've gained _____" followed only by "what do you all think?"
DH was going to the Seahawks Broncos preseason game tonight with his best friend who has amazing season tickets. We got a call this morning that his friend can't go because he was admitted to the hospital for a bacterial/lymphatic infection ... and they were wondering if I wanted to go in his place. I feel like I was much too excited about the idea of going and not nearly as sympathetic to his being at the hospital. I feel terrible, but I'm still really excited to get to go to the game.
My SO is driving me insane. I love him dearly and he is a great guy. But I'm ready for some alone time. He's going to another country for three weeks and I already have so much cleaning planned for when he is gone and it makes me happy to know it will stay that way.
I hate being on pelvic rest and not able to clean. I've never felt so helpless and waking up from super erotic dreams without being able to do anything about it is driving me up the wall. All day I have been close to tears and in a terrible mood and I really think it's because I'm not supposed to indulge in any sexual activity.
My confession is I just ate a whole bag of cheesy ruffle chips and now I'm eating Chinese leftovers. Oye. I'm getting all of the junk food in before hubby comes home and regulates. Haha \:D/
#1 I like Tim Tebow and hope he gets to play this season. #2 I don't really follow NFL foozball (am much more of a college football fan) but will watch if Tebow is playing.
Confession - I actually hate most of the posts I read on the board outside of those who are struggling with real issues (whether health or personal). When I do actually log in, which is usually about 2-3 times a week, I seriously ask myself why I keep doing it. Then I see posts like this one and others where we have a good time and I feel better!

On Tuesday I went to the ER because my vision went extremely blurry and I couldn't function at work. I definitely milked it on Wednesday sleeping the whole day and today getting out of work early. Oh well
In May, my 2yo was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I was 4 weeks pregnant at the time. This entire pregnancy has been negated by this nightmare that we are living. Sometimes, all I can think about is that this new baby will also have diabetes someday too. It's a 1:250 chance. My confession is I am extremely stressed and depressed but trying to hide it every single day for the sake of my son, who is otherwise a happy and healthy toddler. I live in fear that my toddler will go into hypoglycemia and die because of my care. I live in fear that being in hyperglycemia will cause long term complications. I think I am doing a good job, but that is just the nature of the disease in a young child. It's especially true at night when low blood sugar can be really dangerous. I barely sleep these days, which I am sure is not helping my depression. But there is little choice. I hope none of you go through this. It is quite possibly the biggest challenge of my family's life.
I've had an easy pregnancy (no morning sickness, sleeping like a baby), but I do not like being pregnant. I'm ready for December to get here.
I think it's the lack of control that I have over my body and what I can and can't do. I'm envious of women, like my sister, who truly enjoy being pregnant.
@stephaniechen82 I'm sorry that you have all of that going on. Please don't be hard on yourself. Your son's illness is not your fault. All you can do now is adjust your amazing mommy skills to suit your situation. I hope you are seeing a therapist about this and your depression. It may really help a lot.
My FFFC:
1. I screen my calls and texts. Some people annoy the hell out of me. Especially when they call or ask me about things that are stupid or that have been addressed.
2. I cannot stand when people behave as if they are the only ones with something to do or that has obligations. But they want common courtesy for themselves and their loved ones.
3.I cannot tell when my LO kicks.
4. I really dislike ikea furniture. Often times I find it hideous.
5. I think the VMA Miley Cyrus commercials are creepy.
6. I curse like a truck driver and sailor had a baby....
@stephaniechen82 wow, I can't even imagine I have those same worries for my daughter but can't imagine how much more intense the pressure must be for you. I hope you have a supportive SO who is helping and reassuring you.
1. Although I will be a mom myself, I hate the assholes who think they can like just plow ahead with their strollers and not say excuse me. That is SO obnoxious!
2. The whole little kid in spandex everyday thing. Stop being lazy! Get your kid some real PANTS! It's so annoying to me and they have weird patterns.
3. Watch your kids in the park! It irks my soul when I am at the park with my little cousins or Godson and there are like evil demon children there just doing as they please and no adults to check their nonsense. Which leads me into number 4...
4. When people pretend they don't know that their kids are evil. Like ma'am...you KNOW your kid is the devil incarnate. Don't send him/her to the park alone. What is wrong with you?!
I ate two suppers tonight. And a late lunch. So many calories, so little time. Also, I find the prospect of having to curb my cursing by Monday slightly depressing. Being an adult sucks sometimes.

There is a good reason for that. Stretch pants are much easier to find to fit my kid than any other type of pants (something with a button I guess), and really, I haven't found anything other than blue jeans, and those are too hot a lot of the time. Also, try finding any other type of pants in the girls' section that you can buy for cheap since they're gonna grow out of them in a few months.
@redfallon, for you I will make the exception! I hated spandex pants and shorts as a kid and I hate them on kids too. Well more so on kids that I see with spandex every day. I need variety.

She has lots of shorts now, too, but we got a lot of clothes hand-me-down from SIL. When out looking at clothes, I do not see anything for pants other than those kind and blue jeans.
Sorry @ChiccoBeanz - but I gotta say I LOVE stretchy pants. Stretchy pants for all, I say! Plus, I simply don't have time to help that many kids take care of buttons and buckles when they really gotta go. I even go so far as to include a note to parents saying that if your child can not work their clothing, don't send them to school in it.
@Beckah31 I was just about to say it's so much easier to change tods and infants in stretchy pants! Jeans are ehh, but I hate overalls or anything that doesn't come off easily or button on the bottom (I like those cute onesies for toddlers that look like jumpers for girls.. the boys' are cute too) @chiccobeanz@redfallon always keep in mind what's going to happen to those clothes in the event of a poopsplosion!

Yeah, I know exactly what happens to clothes in that situation My daughter is almost 2.

I don't know if people misunderstood me, but I was saying that usually what you find when you are out looking for clothes are the stretchy type pants that don't have buttons or anything. I wasn't saying that I was looking for those types of pants (with buttons and zippers) - just saying that's probably why a lot of people have their kids in stretchy pants and not pants that have buttons and zippers, unless it's blue jeans.
DD has stretchy pants and she has regular blue jeans.
I slept late today so my whole schedule was off. Didn't eat dinner, so I got hangry at like 8:30 this evening. Entire box of 3 cheese Mac and cheese. Not even sorry.
@redfallon I gotcha!
When I hear stretchy pants like what @ChiccoBeanz was talking about, I think of these;
)
YESSS! These things! Why?! Why put those on your sweet sweet baby? That is EEEEEEvil!
They aren't my style, but hey, two year olds love kitties. What else can I say? If I let DD pick out all her clothes, she may come back with that and wearing a tutu over it.
I think stretchy pants look different on each kid depending on how old/big they are. My youngest daughter is turning two in September, but is in a size 12 month (and some 9 month). I think it would be okay on her. My four year old (five in October) is in a size 6 and is on the higher end of the growth chart. This would be a no-go for her. The only time I put stretchy pants on her is when she is wearing a dress or long shirt over it.
