any players on this board? I've been the commish of my league for three years now and every year I lose to hubby by about 3 points. Hoping to finally pull out a win this year but I have done ZERO research so far and our draft is sunday!

Anyone who's done research have any picks for me??

Love fantasy football! How frustrating to come so close and not beat him! My method is to just wing it and go with my guy, haha. Drives my husband crazy cause last year I went completely undefeated in one league and did zero prep. He researched and prepped for weeks before the draft!
So no advice from me but good luck!

Finally a useful topic!! Yes I LOVE fantasy football. We have it draft coming up Aug 31 and I have done no prep yet! I'm more stressed about being ready for draft day then the first day of school!! Hahahaha. Need to get started!!

Go with your gut! If you are an avid football fan and watch religiously, you'll know which teams and players to generally go with. I used this method with no prep on a Las Vegas Station Casino Fantasy team picks a few years back, and was 1 win away from $10K with this method. And the loss was because I will always go with my team no matter the gut feeling...lol. Have fun with it! That's why we wives usually do better than the hubby, they get too serious.

I've only done it twice! And my hubs gets so mad when we draft! Cause he's all serious and has his fantasy book by his side and plans out who he wants to get! Me, I usually pick my faves (mostly Steelers) and he yells at me for not getting someone else! I absolutely refuse to take any Patriots players or Ravens! HATE THEM!

I love fantasy football!! I typically go to ESPN.com and see what they say and then go on yahoo.com to see their fantasy picks and compare. If they both like the same ones they are usually a good safe pick, but I always like to pick 1 or 2 that are kind of wild cards just for fun! We don't have our draft scheduled yet, but I'm super excited!!

I LOVE fantasy football. Players I'm going to look for...Le'Veon Bell, Mark Ingram, Adrian Peterson, Justin Forsett. Marshawn Lynch has been my guy for years, but I'm worried about his back issues. Also Arian Foster just hurt himself. I have doubts about a lot of the usual RB-1's... That's why I'm going Bell. Obvi Gronk for TE. I don't worry that much about WR... Randall Cobb is good enough for a WR 1 for me, then I'll switch out WR2s. It will all depend who is available and what position I pick. I never worry about what ESPN says.

And Boooo any Pat haters.

Ugh I will not take Adrian Peterson this year. I've had him before and he was my best player (and I'm from MN so we especially love him) but now I know what kind of animal he really is.

@daninikicoli I say this in an absolutely friendly, and humorous way, I'm not a Pat hater, but as a tennis player we can tell when a ball is flat or deflated and it can def be an advantage! And I just thought about something to add, this could be the year for Cutler! And although these two are no longer with us, consider Marshall and Peppers, they had some good highlights last season. Arian foster is ranked so low this year! I think his back was giving him a lot of problems last year too. I have a love hate relationship with Ingram and Gronk is always the favorite but I feel like he gets hurt all the time too! I have always wanted to draft Graham but now that he's a Seahawk not sure what his season will be like.

I know!! I have issues with picking a lot of the players after learning about their personal lives.

Haha agreed. My friends and family league is only 8, I told my hubs he needed to find some more people as I had already harassed everyone I knew but he refused and said 8 would be fine.

Yes!!! Finally A topic that made me excited to come across! I love fantasy football! We always have couples league but with the rule that DH and wives can't help each other. To make everyone involved we always have a bet and something bad/funny for the loser so no one wants to be last.

My team name is always Beat "DH". I haven't done research yet but I get the most success by doing week by week research. Last year I came third because of Jamaal Charles *shakes fist*. He was clutch up until the play offs where he played poorly. I at least beat my husband!

Ugh I wish I liked football ! Every year when it rolls around my hubby watches every game bc of fantasy football !! Maybe if I got into a league it would help ? I just didn't grow up watching

@Rach8672 thats why I started playing! It was on all the time and I thought what the hell, if you can't beat em join em.

we also get the red zone which makes it way more enjoyable IMO since you just see the action.

I'd do a bump league! And @Rach8672 that's why I got into Fantasy football! My husband is no longer around on Sundays and 2 nights a week because he's glued to the couch and football!! It's a little more interesting when the announcer says something and you can go, "ooo I have him!!"

I would totally be in. I love football. Some people think I have some sort of problem because I'm constantly yelling at the tv and trying to give pep talks like they can hear me (I know it's totally insane) but I LOVE football!
