2nd Trimester

1st time clueless mom needs stroller advice.... Lol

Hi ladies - I've been reading.... And reading endless stroller reviews and I've ended up a bit more confused about what I need. My sister has a 8 wk old and a 26 month old and wants to give me her Britax B-Agile (the one that came with the car seat bundle, only her new baby is occupying that car seat). I baby sit them and that stroller was barely used. My mom went out and picked up a lightweight stroller as soon as she was sitting up. I have a completely different lifestyle than my sister, I live next to a rural park with paved walking trails and on the other site is a quaint downtown area and DH and I walk constantly. I also have a small 18lb elderly terrier who's now in a dog stroller herself (exercise restriction from arthritis). I need a stroller that I can put the dog in (doesn't need to be a seat, if the basket will accommodate). I just don't want to waste money - so many of the stroller reviews have moms who comment that they wish they had bought something else first. I've also been noticing that my dad doesn't use the car seat base - he says it's easier to use the seat belt. does the holy grail of baby gear exist? I'm tiny, only 5'2", so the likelihood of me being able to lift a "minivan" stroller is questionable. I actually have 2 dogs and cant leave the 1 at home - she retaliates..... Hence the silly looking dog stroller. Honestly, I'm not a cray dog lady. I just don't like poop on my walls. What are your recommendations? Any regrets? I live in CA, so I won't be dealing with weather related issues. My sister seems pissed off that I'm not so in love with her stroller (and I'd have to buy the car seat anyway, and it's pretty hard to get the carrier out of the base (grandpa doesn't use his).

  • It's hard cause we all need/use strollers for different reasons. I am 5'1" and I love the BOB stroller. But I am a runner and have ran races with mine pushing the baby. Don't think I would have spent the money on that type if I didn't really run. If I were you I'd think about when you will use yours the most and then go to BRU and try them all out. A few of the strollers can fit any car seat with a conversion kit. For car seats we are big Britax fans (will have four in our car when #4 comes). Good luck! It's really overwhelming with all the choices we have.
