    Target removing boy and girl labels is ridiculous. I am tired of minority rule in this country now a days.

    I agree with your second sentence. But my niece is into "boy toys" and watching her cry when she sees a sign that designates her favorite toys As only for boys, breaks my heart. I had to explain it to her at McDonald's too with the happy meal toy.... Just another point of view.

    I guess I see that as an opportunity for a "labels don't matter" conversation rather than an "I don't like it so I'm going to throw a fit and make a mass retailer change to appeal to a small group of people" moment. But I see how in the situation parents/family members could feel how you do.

    I agree with you on the throw a fit comment. I don't really think that people should whine to get a private company to change their policy. But I don't see why transformers need to be labeled boy toys in the first place. I'm pretty indifferent about most of these things - I think the U.S. Is way too politically correct sometimes.... which is a pretty unpopular opinion when you think about it ha ha

    I feel the same way. I'm very anti pink/blue girl/boy. Its the minority rule political correctness that makes me mad. So I think we both feel the same way :)

    My thing with this, is rather than doing away with all the signs, parents should just teach their kids. Little girl wants a Tonka truck, oh no its in the boy aisle guess you can't have it. No. You buy them the Tonka truck and if they cry because it's a boy toy you just tell them it was designed with boys in mind, but little girls can still play with it too. Same goes for boys and barbies. And for kids getting made fun of for playing with the opposite genders toys argument, well that goes back to teaching your kids, teach your kids not to be a bully. But, this is probably my unpopular opinion for the week. I just really don't think gender specific things are a bad thing and I don't think our country being insanely politically correct about everything these days and trying to avoid hurting people's feelings is doing anyone any good. Also, probably my own little unpopular opinion.

    No, Walmart here is the same way.  But it isn't about just the signs, it's the general "minority rule" that seems to keep popping up down here.  Flags people want to fly, toys not being labeled, not being allowed to bring snacks to school, no gluten allowed...etc...  It just is getting to the point that I feel (opinion) that the majority is being pushed into having to comply with certain things because a small minority is offended or, as you say, can't deal with things. I feel that this is the United States and I should be allowed to do or say what I want and Target should be able to label their aisles as they so choose as a private, mass market retailer.

    Not sure why you lumped healthcare and maternity leave in with signs about toys, those are two completely different way huge issues.

    Right, and people make more of a stink about signage than things that matter.  Target's stupid mistake was announcing the changes, they should have just done it, and no one would have noticed or cared if they did.  It would be good to remember too, giving women rights like voting was a minority view for a long time too....society moves forward (hopefully forward, and not backwards!) all the time.  I remember when I was a tween, the girls got booted from the community softball league because too many people signed up, so just the boys got to play.  That shit wouldn't fly today, and that's a good thing!

    As a kid, I hated dolls, and liked Legos, and for me, had the aisles been labelled 'Boys' and 'Girls', I wouldn't have cared.  Some little kids might care though, or be too shy about being teased for being in the 'wrong' spot.  Let toys be toys!  And that bedding sets were every signed by 'gender' just cracks me up anyway...PILLOW CASES FOR BOYS/SHEETS FOR GIRLS!  Really?

    The whole target thing started because they had a sign labeled "building sets" and "girls building sets". They should've just apologized, removed to stupid "girls building sets sign" and moved on. I think all toys should be for all kids - who cares if a boy plays with a doll or a girl with a truck?!?

    Here's a new one... Although I think it should be a popular opinion. Someone else's finances and what they can/can't afford or what they choose to spend their money on is No one else's business. Especially not to internet strangers! The judgment regarding money issues is astounding to me.

    I go mental when I hear people talk about their LO being up for hours on end or only taking 1 or 2 naps a day. I strongly feel that my DS needs about 16 hours of sleep in a 24 hour period and there's no way he would get close to that if he only napped a couple of times a day. I hate seeing overtired little babies :(

    Some babies, like my son go through phases where they refuse to sleep!! He spent almost 3 weeks refusing to nap and when he did I was lucky if it lasted an hour. It got so bad he started getting dark circles under his eyes. So, although I agree babies should definitely get tons of sleep, sometimes it's not the parents fault.

    I understand. My DS still refuses to sleep longer than 20 minutes unless I'm holding him. But I don't want him to get overtired and fight naps even harder due to overtiredness. So I end up holding him so he'll sleep.

    I won't argue it though. I knew this was an unpopular opinion thread so people don't have to agree with me.

    I have a modified unpopular opinion, i used to judge people who take their babies out in just diapers but now i understand.

    we're in austria, it's so hot and there are no ACs except for a few places and even then it's not cold enough, LO gets so hot! I never striped her i just keep washing her face and fanning her but i completely understand when people go out with naked babies!
