My husband mentioned something about going to Red Robins. Of course he would want to go somewhere that is pretty much nothing but meat when I'm having a serious aversion to meat right now.

I sooooo get this. There is a Red Robin next door to my gym and the smell walking in and out of there can turn my stomach. I just try to picture the steak fries with ranch the whole time.
@hlmdeck - My hubby told me, "They have salads there too." I know I had this look of disbelief on my face and I told him, "For their prices, I'm not going to be one to just get a salad." He laughed at me.

@tigeraj8170 They have chocolate covered brownie sticks on their dessert menu that I want to try.... dessert for dinner? haha
I have ground beef in the fridge I'd like to use instead of freeze. I've been wanting to a pot pie so maybe I'll try that with the ground meat instead of chicken!
It's supposed to be 90 degrees today through the weekend with a heat index of 106 so not sure what the hubby will want tonight, he works as an airplane technician with no air conditioning so he usually wants only cold food/fruit.
Ideally, I'd like to make homemade chicken noodles with mashed potatoes or order a pizza but it could end up being Jimmy John's and watermelon!
@Achae - I know my hubs would look at me like I was crazy if I did that but that sounds soo good. May have to try it and let you know what I thought. :-)
I really just want pancakes and eggs for dinner, but I already talked my husband into doing that last Friday night, so I don't know that I'll get my way again. But that's really all that I'm interested in ingesting.
My husband works till five and I woke up to my back hurting so bad I can't bend over...I'm thinking we are ordering pizza tonight. Unless my loving husband comes home wanting to cook!

The pancake part sounds good. Carbs are the only thing that ever sounds good to me and doesn't make me nauseas
Pork chops w a red wine reduction, sauteed squash, and probably a bit of ceasar salad.
is there a secret to reductions? I've done a cider reduction once before and I just felt like there was too much "stuff" going on in the pan. (i also had apples and onions in there so that's probably why i felt that.) I'm usually a baked chops girl...

This made me want Shepherd's pie. Anyone?
Ok, I totally made shepherds pie last night and was wondering if you had a special recipe? I know it sounds dumb but when I told my husband how my mom had always made it growing up, he told me I was wrong and I ended up making it completely different than I was used to and didn't like it near as much lol!

Thanks ladies! Yes, please come over bc I don't get around much anymore.
Not really a secret. @Bfavors...I let the wine cook down for a few mins, throw in some beef broth for a few mins and then a pat of butter then it's done. The garlic and pork chops just swim in the pan.
@ashcody2 I didn't realize there were that big of differences for shepherds pie. I always due ground beef, carrots, peas, top with mashed potatoes! How did you/your husband do it?

We do it with ground lamb, tomato paste, worchestershire sauce, Rosemary, thyme etc. no carrots, only peas and corn. With mashed potato on top that's made with half and half and a egg yolk.

Edit: typo

Tonight we're getting Chili's to-go. Steak, mashed potatoes, broccoli, and a side salad for me lol
