Colic and reflux

What can I do to get her to sleep more and help with the colic and reflux?
my daughter is 10weeks old. From week 2 I have had troubles with her belly pain and wind/gas/bubbles. Week 2-6 she would cry from 5-11pm every night because of her belly. I can now get her down at 9:30pm. I know it's too late for a baby. I can't get her to sleep during the day (well one or two 20mins naps) and she wakes between 2-5 times a night between 9:30pm and 6am. She is sleeping on average 10hrs per day so 5hrs less than she should be.

Re: Colic and reflux

  • Is she formula fed or bm? If dormula, try a new one... We found that enfamil ar significantly helped my son. Do you have her sleeping on an incline? This also helps!

  • Try Gerber Soothe Colic drops, it's a probiotic and helps replace the bad bacteria in her gut. Sleeping on an incline would help a ton. If she is in her crib, you can put a book underneath the mattress. I wouldn't worry about the time she goes to bed. Mine goes down around the same time.
  • Talk to your pedi about Zantac. If you are BF, you can also try cutting out dairy. We've seen the best results with changing my diet, but we still have occasional episodes.
  • Have you tried gripe water? A combination of that and baby Zantac has helped us loads! If you're breast feeding, I also try and angle him sideways so he's almost sitting up when he eats. That's almost solved our spit up problem from reflux.
