weighing baby?

wondering if anyone is weighing their babies and if so how often? I'm not worried about my baby's weight gain as he is feeding very well but wondering if I should still be doing this anyway.

Re: weighing baby?

  • My midwife comes for home visits and weighs the baby each time. She came every second day for the first week or so after I was discharged from the hospital and now every week or two. It's reassuring to see that my little one regained his birth weight within a week and is putting on loads more after 3 weeks!

  • I weigh mine to make sure weight is increasing. I just step on my personal home scale with and without her and figure out the difference!
  • Once a week :)
  • Every 3 days...I have a baby scale I bought when I had my son since he was a slow gainer. I really should just do it once a week because DD is gaining well but her nursing sessions are short (10-15 min only 1 breast per feeding) so I just like to be sure.

I am going to go to a lactation support group that is free once a week through my Kaiser insurance (Starting Monday) where they will weigh baby. I am doing fine with breast feeding, but will go for The opportunity to weigh my little one… It's very close to my house
