Anyone using Bio-Oil?

So I'm getting stretch marks now but I'm 32 weeks and have only been using Jergens lotion. Anyone start using the bio-oil later in the third trimester?

Re: Anyone using Bio-Oil?

  • I use Bio-oil and haven't gotten any (on my stomach where I used it) either pregnancy . I have a 2 year old and am 30 weeks now.

  • I use bio oil morning & night and haven't got any stretch marks (yet) I'm 31w2d :)
  • I have switched between of Bio-oil, Burts Bees belly butter (not sure if that is the official name), and Honest Co. oil. No stretch marks yet but that could also be genetics. 30 weeks right now.
  • I use bio oil every night and lotion every morning! Not sure if it actually helps, but no stretch marks so far!
  • I used to use bio oil and it didn't really help, but so far nothing has. I think I'm just genetically inclined to stretchies.
  • Bad news bear here: Stretch marks are genetic.... so if your mum had them you'll get them. Using bio - oil may help but it's not guaranteed. I would lube myself up like a pig at a fair and I got stretch marks at 39w6d. They aren't bad but I'm convinced they're there because he was almost a week late so needless to say my son has some payback coming lol
  • I love bio oil and I have a few good stretchies started. My mom has a ton but I don't think mine will be nearly as bad:)
  • I used coconut oil up until my second trimester and when my boobs exploded from an A to a D cup I ended up with horrible stretch marks. I started using Bio-Oil and it faded those puppies like crazy! Now I alternate between coconut oil and bio oil.
  • My mom never got them and I have them on my hips and butt!! I use bio oil and cocoa butter. idk if they are working too well
  • I used bio oil and only got a few stretch marks on my hips with my first pregnancy. This is my second and I'm 32 weeks tomorrow. Still using bio oil and so far no stretch marks:) I know there's a genetic component to this but my breasts got stretch marks from growing during puberty. So I think I am prone to getting them and so far nada! I'm a believer in bio oil.
  • Also remember, that even if you get them that they will fade! And they are a badge of honor! Your baby thought you needed some body art. haha

I use the Walgreens knockoff of Bio Oil (significantly cheaper) mixed with my usual Nivea lotion after showers. I did the same with DS. I'm 32 w 2 days and none. It's weird because I have stretch marks on the upper outside of my legs from when I had a growth spurt in 8th grade, but haven't gotten them from pregnancy. Fingers crossed I make it this time without any. I don't know if it works, but I figure it can't hurt to keep your skin extra hydrated as it stretches. If for itchiness only.

  • I used bio oil and multiple other things my first pregnancy and my body is a road map from all my stretch marks ! I wouldn't count on anything working. I haven't used anything this pregnancy and haven't developed any new stretch marks yet !
  • Honestly. ..baby 4 here,no stretch marks and have never lubed myself up ;) I think it's genetic.
  • I use bio oil and I still got some stretch marks.
