Im 38 weeks. Having my membranes stripped at my appointment this afternoon. Last weeks appointment I was almost 2cm dilated and 50% effaced. I plan on walking like crazy after my appointment today and maybe some sex to get this baby out. Anyone recommend anything else? Anyone had success with getting your membranes stripped?
Re: Stripping membranes
38 weeks is entirely too early to do this IMHO. You aren't even full term. It's uncomfortable & probably pointless. Baby will come when they are ready.

You may have to pay out of pocket & suck it up, but don't put your kid through forcible induction just to save money. What if they end up in the NICU? Then your insurance will run out AND you'll have a higher bill.
Not to mention if all your efforts distress the infant & you have to have a C-section. No money saved there either.
Seriously-- money sucks, but health issues suck more. Please exercise some common sense before your concern for your wallet!

"ACOG and SMFM now define a full-term pregnancy as a pregnancy that lasts between 39 weeks, 0 days and 40 weeks 6 days. Babies born full term have the best chance of being healthy, compared with babies born earlier or later."
I went into labor 08/13 and gave birth to a healthy beautiful baby boy on 08/14 7lbs 6oz. I trust my doctor and her knowledge that neither my baby and I were at risk. He was considered full term at 37 weeks.
So all and all everything I tried worked and I got to meet the love of my life.
hope u and baby are both well
