Postpartum swimming?

My sweet Eva was born July 26! I'm almost 3 weeks postpartum and ready to get out a little and go to a friends pool or beach.
Do I really have to wait the full 6 weeks to submerge myself in the water??

    What did your doctor/discharge instructions say? Mine say 2 weeks for swimming or until bleeding/discharge stops completely.

    My dr said 6 weeks. I'm definitely going to wait it out because I don't want to risk infection.

    I've want so badly to go swimming but I'm waiting. My appointment is Monday and I'll be going in a body of water immediately if I get the go ahead.

    Mine said once bleeding stopped..I've been in the pool a few times :)

    I had a c section July 22 and my doct cleared me for swimming at my 2 week appt.

    but it seems like everyone's ob has a different opinion so I'd call yours and ask first

    I had a c-section and my OB told me I could "jump in" a pool and get back out, but shouldn't stay in the pool (like showering vs bathing) for 6 weeks. Haha...I remember thinking what in the heck makes you think I feel like "jumping" anywhere?!
