IVF abroad? (BFP and loss mentioned)

Hi everyone. A little background...dh and I conceived on our final round of clomid in June unfortunately I suffered a miscarriage on the 4th of August. Upon beginning our last cycle the RE said our next step would be IVF. My insurance doesn't help with IVF. So my question is have any of you thought about/done any rounds of IVF abroad. We live in the San Diego area and have thought about researching clinics I Mexico. Also my husband is from Pakistan and I told him I'm not opposed to researching some clinics over there if he trusts in them. He has an extended family member that did IVF over there twice resulting in a pregnancy (unfortunately she lost both of the babies due to cysts). Knowing that she did conceive is what made me consider going there. Please any thoughts or suggestions would be great.

    Hey! I'm still doing IUI...I'm on my 5th cycle now...if it doesn't work I've been interested in IVF overseas too. My husband is Indian :) I'm either doing a money back guarantee program or something overseas. How much is IVF in Pakistan?

    1.) IUI Cycle 1 April 2015- 50mg clomid days 5-9, U/S cycle day 12 at 9:30am showed two follicles (17mm and 19mm), Ovidrel trigger shot cycle day 13 at 9:30pm, IUI cycle day 15 at 10:30 am. BFN
    2.) IUI Cycle 2 May 2015-50mg clomid days 5-9, U/S cycle day 12 at 3:30pm showed three follicles!!! (17mm, 20mm and 22mm), Ovidrel trigger shot cycle day 13 at 9:30pm, IUI cycle day 15 at 10:30 am. BFN
    3.) IUI Cycle 3 June 2015-50mg clomid days 5-9, U/S cycle day 12 showed one follicle, Ovidrel trigger shot cycle day 13 at 9:30pm, IUI cycle day 15 at 10:30 am. BFN
    Month break and switched RE's.
    4.) IUI Cycle 4 July 2015-5mg letrozole/femara days 3-7, U/S day 12 showed one follicle (18mm), Ovidrel trigger shot cycle day 12 10:00pm, IUI cycle day 14 10:30 am. BFN
    5.) IUI Cycle 5 August 2015-100mg clomid days 3-7, U/S day 12 showed 2 follicles (18mm each), Ovidrel trigger shot cycle day 12 10:00pm, IUI cycle day 14 10:30 am. BFN
    Taking a break and trying acupuncture before continuing another 3 IUI/clomid cycles. I also went back to my original RE; because of my age and normal tests, RE wants to try another 3 IUI and Clomid cycles before considering injectables or IVF. 
    6.) IUI Cycle 6 October 2015-100mg clomid days 3-7, U/S day 12 showed 3 follicles!!!( 18mm, 19mm, and 20mm), Ovidrel trigger shot cycle day 13 at 9:30pm, IUI cycle day 15 at 9:30 am. Did acupuncture with this cycle too. BFN
    Took a break and ttc naturally
    7.) IUI Cycle 7 February 2016-100mg clomid days 3-7, U/S day 12 showed 2 follicles (22mm and 24mm), Ovidrel trigger shot day 12 at 9:00pm, IUI cycle day 14 at 10:00am. BFN
    Meeting scheduled for 2/29/2016 to discuss iui with injectables vs. IVF
    8.) IUI Cycle 8 March 2016-Injectables (Gonal F), U/S showed 2 mature follicles, Ovidrel Trigger BFN
    April-May I lost my mind.
    IVF#1 July 2016-Transferred 2 fair blasts. 9dp5dt BFP 129 BETA, 13dp5dt 944 BETA, 20dp5dpt 8776 BETA, 8/19/2016-1 beautiful heartbeat  of 100 BPM at 6 weeks 1 day! Growing baby grow!! 8/25/2016-another ultrasound at 7 weeks and baby has a heart beat of 129 BPM and is 10mm/1cm! Grow baby grow some more!! Graduated from RE at 10 weeks and had ObGyn appointment at 13 weeks. It's a girl (found out via panorama test)  EDD 4/13/2017

    There's somebody on this board right now doing IVF in, I think, Hungary? Paging @susykat77 !

    We looked into going overseas. For us the decision was that adding the stress of doing this in a location other than my home - and alone since DH wouldn't be able to come with - wasn't in our best interest. I would definitely keep in mind the balance of expense vs. stress. That said, we would have spent 1/10th as much if we had gone overseas. The US healthcare markup is for real.

    Taking a break to go on vacation + enjoy the holidays before FET and/or another IVF round in 2016!

    @Knottie36622473 it ranges $2-4,000. My guess is it would be pretty close to the same in a India! Including flight and the stay it would still be monumentally less expensive than here in the US.

    I know there are some clinics in India that are affiliated with fancy hotels and spas to make the trip more relaxing. I remember seeing one that included a tour of the Taj Mahal!

    I'm honestly considering it---it's just finding one that's trust worthy.

    I believe so I'm not 100% sure. That deal where you get to tour the Taj Mahal sounds awesome though!

    The Czech Republic is one of the more popular, and established, places to do this. Not sure if I can share links, but if you google you will find lots of info.

    2/12-5/12: 4 IUI cycles = all BFN;
    7/12: DE IVF # 1 (with ICSI)- 20R, 16M, 14F, 5DT of 2 blasts; 6 frosties = BFN;
    Lupus anticoagulant initially high, then found to be normal on hematology consult;
    Follow up testing in September all clear;
    Started synthroid for "high normal" TSH;
    FET # 1- late October 2012- BFP on FRER; beta # 1- 21(low), beta # 2- 48 (still low), beta # 3- 132, beta # 4- 1,293; beta # 5- 5,606; last beta- over 100,000. First u/s 11/21- heard heartbeat
    12/12- Officially an OB patient!
    Level 2 ultrasound at 20 weeks shows vasa previa and VCI
    Referral to MFM and mandatory c section for delivery
    Beautiful baby girl born at 34 weeks
    Finally home after 15 day NICU stay!
    Trying for sibling: FET # 2- May 2014; beta 5/31, BFN
    FET #3, early July 2014; beta 7/14, BFN
    DE IVF # 2- August 2014; 14R, 13M, 11F, 5dt of 2 blasts (3 AA), 5 frosties = BFN
    FET #4- December 2014, yet another BFN

    Dr. KK work up shows borderline uterine blood flow, elevated NK cells, and MTHFR mutation (homozygous for c677t)

    Added baby aspirin, prednisone, supplements, Metanx, and intralipids

    Switched to large clinic for final attempt; had endometrial receptivity testing in January; FET March 2015 = yet another BFN

    Likely OAD- NBC

    There are low cost clinics in the USA. If you want details message me. Sometimes when you add in travel costs for doing IVF abroad it ends up costing the same as if you were to do it at home. This is a tough read but hang in there. You can do it.

    I'd like more info about low cost us. Just did fet. For very non low cost lol. Researched Russia. Travel and meds and all still wayyyyy cheaper than us. But I have my concerns.
