Bedtime?

Just wondering what time you typically put your newborn to bed for the night? My guy is 5 weeks old and we don't put him to bed until 8:30-9ish. Then we go to bed right afterwards (we are almost always in bed by 9:30, but stay up for a bit it was like this before we had a baby too) he sleeps downstairs in his swing before bed, but we have a routine of feeding him, reading a story, and then getting into the crib. And I've been pretty lucky-he will sleep until 1:30-2 am eat then get up around 5-5:30 to eat again. (Hubby gets up at 5:30 for work) and most days he will go back to sleep again.

Re: Bedtime?

  • 2 weeks PP so no regular routine as of yet. Usually, he doesn't go to bed til 12am but tonight, in bed at 10pm. Might be getting some where!!!

  • We start out night time routine at 9 of changing, feeding, swaddling and rocking. She is usually asleep by 10/10:15, sometimes shorter if we are lucky!
  • 2 weeks here as well, no set time yet.
  • I posted this after he was in bed last night and he woke up at 12:20 and kept me up until after 3:30 lol. He was fighting sleep so hard and I was so tired I was dozing off while rocking him. On the plus side though, he woke up again at 6:30 to eat this morning and I slept until 9. He's actually still dozing, but I'm going to wake him up to eat soon. Typically I don't wake him up to eat, but it's time to get the day started. He needs to eat so we can run to the store.
  • Everyone is so early for bedtime now I'm worried! Lol he has always had a schedule so I don't mess with it. Eats around 10-10:30 pm and wakes up around 4am again. Usually that's how it goes. He is in a growth spurt currently like just the past two days and will wake up sporadically. Good thing those don't last. He is 5 weeks old.
  • 5 weeks tomorrow and we're also in bed by 9-9:30 most nights. He takes a bottle anywhere from 8:30-9, I always try to hold off as long as possible. He wakes between 12-2, then again between 3-5 depending on when he woke the first time. So far, he's been almost identical to my first son in terms of sleep patterns and I hope it continues as my first has been a great sleeper.

  • I can never get LO to sleep before 11 (usually it's midnight). We start trying at about 10pm but he wakes up crying about every 20 minutes until he finally goes down. Then he sleep anywhere from 3-6 hours, wakes up to feed and then goes back down until 7am or 8pm.
