What temperature are you keeping your house at now that your little is here? We keep ours between 75-76 amd that's chili! Everything I read says around 65 to help prevent SIDS. That seems like a meat locker to me. Curious to what everyone is doing.
I don't have air conditioning, and we bed share, so what it is, is what she gets (and she snuggles right against me no matter how hot). That being said I have a ceiling fan, and I dress her accordingly (sometimes just a diaper for bed), and she just has a sheet & sometimes a very light blanket pulled up to her armpits (because the fan does get cool).
During a big heat wave, we stayed with my folks who had air.
I think adding a fan would make the warmer temperature fine. Babies in warm climates don't all have climate control - I think it's stuffiness/still air that's the bigger problem.
Our doctor said no hotter than 68-72 degrees, if you can control it. I feel like 72 is pretty cold, but we keep the bedroom at 72. Fortunately our master suite has its own zone for the ac, so the rest of the house we can keep at 75.
We do between 72-74 at night. I think 72 is freezing! But also the vent blows the cool air right at me when sleeping. We also still swaddle LO with either a onesie or just diaper. He's been fine. As long as your LO's not sweating, it's prob fine.
We keep it set to 70 but LO's room is over the garage, so it usually stays around 75. We also keep his ceiling fan on at all times. I would put it lower, but my older son's room is freezing at 70 and he kicks off his covers a lot at night.
I'm warm blooded so we keep out AC at 69° all day long. We bed share and he sleeps cuddled next to me. We turn our ceiling fan on low to help circulate the air in the room.
