i have my brothers wedding on Saturday and I am pastey white and wearing a blush coloured dress. Just wondering if I should get a spray tan or not. I am 5w2d thanks !

Re: Spray tans

  • I did for my wedding a couple weeks ago. I've always thought it was safe.

  • I hear that it's safe but some doctors advise to wait until week 14. I would double-check with your OB, but I've been told that it's harmless.
  • As far as I can tell there's not really enough research to say, really. Some doctors recommend waiting until after the first trimester, some don't have an opinion. The DHA that reacts with your skin may be able to get absorbed through the skin into your bloodstream and therefore into the baby's, so in my mind I'd think that's too big a risk, but I'm a bit of a worrywort.

This. I did a whole bunch of research before coming to this conclusion and I just didn't want to risk it. I've seen on several different websites that it is safe, and then on others that it's a toss up. You should ask your OB for their opinion. If you do decide to go through with it, make sure your salon uses Norvell products (by far the BEST product around to begin with, but is also is non-toxic, and utilizes eco-certified natural DHA). It just depends on how comfortable you feel! I think I'll feel better about it in my second and third trimester. Until then I just used St. Tropez and Jergens and applied it myself ;)
