Sex to induce + PAIN!

I have been told and read everywhere it can't hurt to try having sex to get things going...except it TOTALLY hurts! I'm 39+ 5 and no progression with cervix even my Dr told me try having sex... Its so uncomfortable ! Anyone else have discomfort or pain with sex ?

    I am ok with very little movement. Try sliding al the way to the end of the bed so there is no pressure on your belly.

    I've been thinking about this option but my whole pelvic floor region is tender and uncomfortable just to sit on, let alone be prodded with a penis. And it just feels gross down there. Not sure whether to grin and bear it to see if it makes something happen!

    I am in exactly the same boat. It's never pain free but small movements and focusing on relaxing the muscles there helps, as well as massaging (depending on which position you're in). That said, three tries this week...she's still bakin' away in there!

    But despite the pain factor it is nice to be intimate again!

    Walk a lot if you can, that's the only thing that i can say i am having any success with. I have had a couple of small shows after a lot of walking this week so there is some progression!

    So been trying to get DH to do it all week. Finally today he gave in. OH BOY do I regret it. Not only was it a little awkward because we haven't done anything in a long while but holy fucking pain! I don't even remember my first time being that painful

    We've been trying this too. Unfortunately it usually hurts at the beginning. But, as a PP said, lube is your best friend! Just play around with different positions and you will find what works for you.

    Possible TMI: DH and I have found him sitting down and me sitting in his lap where I can control the movement and depth really helps a lot.

    My BF was too scared to touch me for the longest. But once he heard it was safe from the doctors mouth again.. Later in the pregnancy.. All engines were a go. And go. And go. And go. Lol thank God I havnt been having pain. I'd lose my mind. Hopefully something will get going.

    But I really think relaxing has a LOT to do with it when your intimate. If your not relaxed and thinking about other things.. Ull tense up and it will def hurt more. I know many of us are trying to go this route to get baby out.. But it's still sex and should be fun and we should be able to let loose or whatever. Try not to think of it as work and enjoy yourself while you can before we give birth and need a donut just to sit down again!

    Oh as its def easier on the edge of the bed with a soft pillow under ur belly while your "bent over"/doggy style.

    I'd say discomfort, but not pain. You just have to use a lot of lube (unless you're able to get going without it) and go very slowly. My hubby was instructed by my doctor not to go all the way in either because of how low baby is and how effaced I am. Perhaps that's why it's not painful?

    Some people get desperate...the semen on your cervix is what releases the oxytocin. My friend who works labor and delivery said she is shocked by how many people do semen Popsicles down there! She said the women all said they were desperate and couldn't handle the sex! I am getting close to my due date but can't fathom being that desperate!

    Just to clarify, semen affects the cervix through a release of prostaglandins (which can soften it), and reaching an orgasm is what releases oxytocin (which can cause contractions)

    Hmm maybe I need to get him drunk.. He just thinks it's not ok to have sex while I'm pregnant.. I want to jump his bones and he says he can't.. Once we found out the sex it stopped.. Really

    Honestly I have no clue! I did not ask questions. Just laughed at the thought. Her comment when I said sex hurt was to try a semen popsicle. Knowing I never would I laughed and said I think I'm good! Nipple stimulation can release oxytocin so maybe that's a good option for you.

    Bahahaha this cracked me up. Semen shots followed by a chaser! Ugh. I used to love pounding down a couple shots of whiskey.... But the idea of any kind of shot right now... Ugh...

    We attempted sex the other day ! It hurt and no position was comfortable
    :( I just had him hurry up and finish then used a vibrator on my external lady parts to satisfy me . Still no contractions though ......

    Yep definitely just using DH at this point to get this baby out. It's not comfortable and I'm so sore from that I feel bad for myself that im nearly on fake it mode. I can't wait to get back to my normally scheduled program sex wise. But i agree it's not "fun" right now and we've been consistently sexual the whole pregnancy.

    The only position that's comfortable for me is I lie on my back. He lays on his side and... We scissor. Haha! I laughed at first too but it's much less painful as long as he gets it done before my back starts aching anyways!

    Try you on top or in the shower.I know it's a bitch and uncomfortable but I found its the most comfortable and do-able of all the options for me. Keep it up I definitely think it's helping move things along for me.

    I can hardly keep my balance just scooting past my SO in the shower for a turn under the water, idk how you manage to DTD :-O unless you have a really nice shower that has a bench or something (lucky!)
