trying to schedule my induction

so my doctor sent the request to the hospital to get the gel on Monday, and to be induced on Tuesday. I got a call back from the lady who books the inductions at the hospital saying they are fully booked and they have to send another request to see what they have available and she will call me back tomorrow. anyone else have to go through this??? seems weird to me that the hospital would be "fully booked". also making me anxious because the longer I wait the bigger this baby will get, and the more my doctor will want to push for a c section. I'm just so annoyed about it. how is that even possible to be fully booked when ladies are going into labor daily! grrrr :-L

    Yea, some hospitals do get booked especially for inductions. Just keep following up. Stay on top of them!

    It's okay, I would be frustrated too but remember that LO can't gain a significant amount of weight in 1-3 days. I'm pretty sure OB floors like to have some wiggle room with space, so they don't want to have too many scheduled inductions or CS since they can't control when someone starts labor spontaneously. I hope they fit you in soon and I agree with PP, keep calling them back until they get you scheduled ASAP!

    I can imagine your frustration but hopefully that means, they won't be so busy when u do labor and you'll have better attention and care! Good luck!!

    @emmacake08 do u happen to know how much they can gain in a week at this point? thank you ladies! I'm hoping maybe some inductions will be canceled because of people going into labor naturally that way they can bump me up! being patient is not my forte ;(

    I think my ultrasound tech said that it can be about .5 pound per week at this point. I'm guessing if they can just get you in a day or 2 later, it wouldn't be a significant gain versus fitting you in a full week later (which I doubt would happen anyway). Hope you get your date soon!!

    My midwife tried scheduling mine all this week but couldn't because of how booked up the hospital is. It's baby season in FL! She managed to get me in Monday but had to book it for 4am so I wouldn't get bumped. Craziness.

    My midwife tentatively booked me in for induction at 41+1 next Wednesday as she needed to confirm that there were no other inductions - apparently they only do one a day! I'm assuming she meant that the midwifry group wing of the hospital only does one a day although even then, it's not a small group of midwives - still seems unbelievable!

    My induction was pushed back from 5pm to 2:30 am. Sometimes stuff comes up or as the nurse said people come in who are in labor. Hopefully they can get you in soon! Stay positive!

    @messymolly08 baby season in Maryland too!! so many pregnant ladies out here!! I don't even mind going in at 2am or 4am or 5am I just want it scheduled(hopefully sooner than later) so my mind can stop swallowing itself in a warm hole of anxiety :-) I also still have to let my work know when my last day is! I guess scheduling inductions would be pretty tricky now that I think about it
