I have read in TCOYF and a few websites that you can have a swollen inguinal lymph node (between pelvis and thigh crease) around ovulation. What I cannot find is the science behind it! Curious if anyone understands why it would swell due to ovulation? I know it usually swells on the side that you ovulate, but just don't understand what makes it swell. Pretty much just curiosity at this point since it's mentioned so vaguely.
Also who else has experienced this? As an FYI mine was at its peak size (pea size) and tender when I got my peak OPK, but has now swelling has gone down.

Re: Science behind swollen inguinal lymph nodes?
OPKs don't guarantee ovulation. I'd suspect this "swelling" is probably more hormonal than exact correlation with O (if that's real thing). Kinda like EWCM. EWCM means you are maybe gearing up to O, but maybe not. I think it would be hard to distinguish a gland in your grown swollen to a "pea size". Unless you are super skinny, I think it would be difficult for the general population to notice the "swelling". But glands can swell for lots of reasons too. That really doesn't answer your question (and I don't have TCOYF with me), but I tried a quick google search and not many reputable sights come up discussing lymph nodes.
I know mine swell because my immune system is compromised and working overtime. I've known women who are more rundown around ovulation time vs AF. I wonder if that's the correlation. Hormones shifting then causing the immune system to be run down a bit. Mine are always larger when I have fevers, even very, very low grade. Of course, I have no science to put behind this, but you've definitely captured my interest.
