39 weeks and impatient

My due date is on Friday i have not dilated at all no contractions and im becoming impatient. Im so ready to not be huge and pregnant anymore. This is my first baby and i am only 18 so i like having the opinion of women.going through it or that have been through it. Is there ANYTHING that can help me dilate?!

Re: 39 weeks and impatient

  • Honestly the baby won't come until ready. So the only safe things you can try is lots and lots of sex & walking!

  • Nope, hang in there is my only advice
  • No mam. Only your body knows what to do. If nothing else, this is the one thing in life worth waiting for. Enjoy.
  • Walk a lot is what I've been told.
  • I'm a STM and 39 wks. As of yesterday my cervix have had no change since my last check at 36 weeks. My doctor told me to go home and have sex lol of course she also said sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't but it doesn't hurt to try.
  • Yep ditto the advice above. Hang in there, you've made it this far and you're probably days away at this point. Before you know it you'll have your sweet baby and your body back. For me, surfing birth announcement layouts (love tinyprints.com) and working on LOs baby book helps me be *a little* more patient. Maybe binge watch some Netflix between walks and sex to pass the time.

  • Walk. A lot.

I'm 40+2 today. Every time i have spent the morning/day walking around i have ended up going to the bathroom to find a bit of show. Yesterday i was up from 8.30am to 2.30pm doing grocery shopping, tidying the house, making pasta sauces to freeze etc and at around 3pm i had some show (had first show on Monday after spending the morning in Ikea, Kmart and Target).

Today hubby and i are heading off to a nearby shopping centre and walking around, will stop for a nice lunch somewhere then we'll take our dog to the park for a walk.

Your back and pelvis will hate you by the end of the night though. I find massaging my lower back with one of those spikey massage balls against a wall helps a lot, as does applying a heat pack and sitting on an exercise ball rather than slumping on to the couch, which make any back pain i have worse.

    Good luck!
