Hope crushing false labor

Anyone else have their hopes and reputation crushed thanks to false labor? Freakin sucks. Started tracking contractions around noon yesterday. When they consistently hit 20 min apart around 3:30pm I darted out of work while I still had time to make the drive. Got home and walked, making some hit 12-13 min apart. At that point I was like "hey, ok!" Then they started slowing down. Today it's been minimal small contractions and A LOT of baby moving. Yesterday I had some spotting twice - with poo - think it was the mucus plug. Anyway, I'm hoping these contractions and baby beatings don't last for days/weeks. I'm 39 weeks today! Was dilated to 2 and 80% on Monday. Fingers crossed.

    Yep, in the same boat I think. Woke up 4.30am with back ache and cramps which continued until around 11am and about 6 mins apart. They then died off. Went for a ride in the car along bumpy roads and they seem to have started again so now sat in a bouncy ball trying to keep them going. Water not gone and joy lost plug so not holding out much hope. Very frustrating.

    Right there with ya, I've been to L&D with consistently strong contractions 2-3 min apart twice within the past week. I gave up after yesterday's news that I'm still 3 cm. 50% effaced (-2 station) and scheduled the induction for this Friday. 

    I know this could go on for a very long time, and at this point I just want to make sure I have plenty of energy for the day I actually do have to go through labor!

    Yes! Since last night! 10 mins apart then fell asleep woke up thinking oh I'm still here, baby's still here :) today 7-8 mins apart husband came home and now nothing. Anticipation is making me crazy! Good luck to everyone!

    I feel your pain, even the reputation part. I lost my plug three weeks ago and have had 5 minute apart contractions for five days now! Went to L&D last night thinking it was time and only 1cm dialated :( can't stand these stop and go contractions!

    Leaving work to go home yesterday of course got my office mates excited. Then I showed up today. It's been "oh I didn't think we'd see you" or "oh I heard you were in labor". Now I'm just the false alarm lady and feel like an idiot for going home yesterday.

    @hollyberri So glad you have induction scheduled tho. There's some hope. My doctors won't induce until a week AFTER the due date. That puts me at at least two more weeks of lil miss doesn't get her act together.

    Yes, I had some super annoying false labor last week. On baby #3 mind you. You would think I should know the difference by now. It happens to a lot of people. I wouldn't worry too much about what your coworkers think.

    I keep having contractions 3 minutes apart for about an hour which is when my dr said to call or head to L&D but as soon as I get ready to pick up the phone or head to the car they start getting farther apart and then just fade out completely! This has been happening every couple of days for weeks! It's driving me insane!
