Multiples Check in August 12th

Happy Hump Day!
Let's use this thread to check in with everyone to see how things are coming along. What symptoms are you having this week, how far along are you, how are you feeling about your changing body, how are you and SO getting along, weird cravings and dreams and anything else you want to share and /or vent about.

Feel free to post a bump pic if you'd like :)

Re: Multiples Check in August 12th

  • Yay! I missed the multiples check-in.

I'm in pain this week, guys! I'm 18 weeks, and I feel like any sudden movements will set off those round ligaments. And it feels like I got kicked in the tailbone - what is up with that?

Other than that, I feel great :) I'm eating constantly, but mostly healthy stuff - fast food and most junk food makes me barf, although the babies do like the occasional cinnamon bun or handful of cheezies! ;)

This is weirdly the best I've ever felt about my body. I've got a huge bump but it's all forward so I've still got a waist, my face seems a bit slimmer probably because this is the healthiest I've ever eaten. I've always been overweight, and struggled to feel good about my body... well, this is the time to feel good about it. I'm growing two humans! If I could figure out a way to post a pic I would.

Husband has been so supportive of all my complaints and random crying. I can't say enough good things about him.

So even though I sit here in agony because I can't find a comfortable enough position, life is still pretty good. :)

  • Yay for check ins!

I'm 17 weeks 3 days with my fraternal twins. I'm doing so well it makes me nervous! I am having a lot of the groin pulling type pains and what feels like sciatic nerve pain but I'm not sure. I had some headaches that seem to be a lot better with a little modification in my caffeine intake. My bump is coming along nicely, I'm not totally spreading out like I thought I would and I'm loving my pregnant body right now! I love Palmers lotion which I use obsessively :D We find out the sexes next week, I'm so excited!
  • It is so nice to read these and hear how everyone is doing.

I am 15 weeks 4 days and enjoying my bump big time :D  I am still struggling with sporadic nausea and vomiting, but my energy is way better during the day than it has been.  (I am still asleep on the couch by 8:30 at night).  My husband has also been so wonderful and really surprised me in how caring and attentive he is.  I really try not to take advantage of it unless I am feeling awful, but it is so nice how much he has stepped up to the plate.  We spent the weekend with my 9 month year old niece who is at such a joyful and interactive age.  It is so fun to imagine two babies at that age interacting with each other.

I have some questions I am hoping you all can help me with:  Are you all feeling movement? If so, what does it feel like?  Also, how are your twins positioned? I apologize if this is a dumb question, but are they side by side or on top of one another?  Has everyone transitioned to side sleeping? I am having a hard time with it and really prefer my back but know I need to get out of the habit.

  • Hi everyone! I am feeling great and loving my pregnant body. My bum is filling out nicely, which I love. I'm 15w3d so my bump is pretty small but I still stare at it in the mirror any chance I get :)
My sciatica has been flaring up since week 8, which has been tough but my yoga is helping. And ummm can we talk about the water works?? I am crying about Every. Little. Thing. Last night I woke up crying and then continued to cry for about 30 more mins over my sad dream. That part may seem normal enough. Let's talk about my dream though - The Elder Bear was always looking out for all the other bears. Then one day he lost both of his hands so when the humans came to take the bears to work in the circus they wouldn't let him go b/c how could he do tricks without hands? They all laughed at him, even his fellow bears. Oh and did I mention he lost his hands by rescuing a baby cub from a falling tree?? And I'm crying just typing this again. Seriously??!!
My hubby has been amazing. Very supportive and loving. And apparently doesn't mind my 4am ugly crying over bears.

Lastly, here's our announcement. My DSDs are over the moon about having little brothers or sisters. We had just told them the news before capturing this photo. I was 11 weeks.

  • @happyandhopeful3 I am not feeling movement yet but we may not be there yet. I hear that movement is first detected between 16 & 20 weeks. My babies are side-by-side and one is a little lower, closer to the cervix. I am still sleeping on my back while I can. I will probably start the (dreaded) transition in a week or 2. Hope you're doing well!!

When I had my first ultrasound at 7 weeks one was on top while the other was on the bottom. I went for my check up last Friday and they were side by side, facing each other. But they are moving around so much, literally doing somersaults, so who knows what position they'll be in when I go for my 20 week anatomy scan. Yes, I have been feeling them move for a while more but especially in the past week. I am 17 weeks 4 days and they move a lot. It's like popcorn movements. In the beginning I would only notice if I were sitting still and it was quiet (weird, I know) but I feel them more throughout the day now even some pretty strong thumps. I do sleep on my side, trying to stick to the left but I feel the babies move more when I'm on my right. I try to do the left side but sometimes I need a change.

I have some questions I am hoping you all can help me with:  Are you all feeling movement? If so, what does it feel like?  Also, how are your twins positioned? • Hi everyone. So things are going well for me too. My appetite is not as high as it used to be. I do use MyFitnessPal app to keep track of everything. I like to see how many calories, along with my sodium, iron and other things. I am doing well with my workouts. About 5 times a week for an hour so that has helped with my energy level, or maybe this is the time when energy peaks. I can't believe this Saturday I will be 5 months pregnant!! It still seems surreal! Anyone else feel this way?? Eveytime I send my hubby pics he is still in shock that I am pregnant too. We have been discussing names and looks like we agree on our daughters name but still deciding for our son. We won't announce those until the babies arrive.

I still haven't announced on fb but I plan to on our wedding anniversary which is 9/8.

Today I am 17 week and 4 days. The size of onions. My body is definitely not mine anymore. My dr says my weight gain is good. I was so worried because I ate so much in the first trimester. I'll share, I've gained 14 lbs so far. I was ashamed because I hear women say they've only 5 or 6 or whatever and I felt like mine was too much. My hubby was very sweet too by telling me I still look sexy in the last pic I sent him. I'll attach it after I post this. He made my day with that comment.

I haven't had any crazy cravings but the past 2 nights I haven't been able to sleep and I saw on fb someone posted an ice cream so I wanted one really bad. If hubby was home I would've asked him but I suffered in silence and went back to sleep :( I still want my ice cream cone! Dreams have been about sex, sex and more sex. I guess it doesn't help that I haven't had any since hubby left 3 months ago. This sucks! lol

  • I think I'm feeling movement...it feels like a flutter in my tummy....definitely unlike anything so I'm pretty sure it's them!

At my last ultrasound they were positioned on top of one another, like one towards my head the other towards my feet. They were also head to toe, so like ones head to the others toes.

I am so trying to transition to side sleeping, but I'm such a back sleeper! I usually just try and make sure I start out that way. I don't worry too much as my doctor says my body will know what it needs to do and when. Plus I think that's much important in the later stages.
  • @keshakdavis Your hubby is deployed right? I had forgotten about that. No sex in 3 months must be really tough so no wonder all the sex dreams! When will you see him next? That is going to be one very sweet moment   :)

  • I wanted to thank you @keshackdavis for creating the multiple boards. They've been helpful for me. We found out last week that twin a has passed in utero. It had developed a chromosome disorder and didn't even make it for us to do an amnio. Baby b is perfectly fine and is not impacted at all. But, i was really looking forward to bringing home my Twinkies. Good luck to you ladies with your little ones.
  • @agarza21 I am so sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what you and your family are going through because I know I would be a mess. I think twins are super special so to lose one has to be tough. I'll keep you in my prayers.

And you're welcome, regarding creating the board.

  • @MamaZen yes he is deployed. He will be back in December so he should be just in time for the births unless they decide to come earlier. I'm not due until mid-January. Is it weird that I am so concerned about sex when he comes back, as far as if I'm still pregnant I'll be super huge and what if he doesn't want it with me or what if I'm too uncomfortable or what if it's that 6 week period and he isn't able to get any. Lol I know, the crazy things that I think about.

  • @keshakdavis Girl that's not weird at all. I'm such a planner so that would be on my mind too. That man is going to be so excited to be home to his pregnant wife that I think you could look like Cookie Monster - literally blue & furry - and he'd still be into you. Remember, he's been without sex as long as you and you're having his child. If you're sending him teaser pics until then (which I think is a great idea!), there should be no big surprises upon his return. You look AWESOME by the way :)

  • @Agarza21: my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. I'm saddened by your lost yet thankful that baby B is fine and that you still have one bundle on joy to cherish. How many weeks were you if I may ask? Did you have any signs of baby A in distress?

Your multiples family board is still here for support anytime you need us.

    Warmest hugs

  • Thank you @Aminafleming! Baby A was measuring at 13 weeks, but I'm thinking it must have happened around 15 weeks. I had a drs appt around that time and they did detect two heartbeats. The only signs we had was the abnormal nt scan and baby measuring smaller than B. My nt was measuring 4.3 and i was given a1 in 5 chance of downs. The last us showed that fluid had entered the babies body completely and it was unable to dispose of it.
