Im so upset! Like for reals! After our blood tests, my mother in law keeps saying its a boy, when our results are a girl! My husband and I are thrilled about it. And she just gets me so mad! Like, I dont know what to do!

Just laugh at her behind her back now and to her face when the baby comes out without a penis. She may be annoying now, but how annoyed will SHE be when she realizes how dumb she was? Either way, you end up with the baby, so you win.

She makes me feel bad! She has two grandsons and one granddaughter, and she once mentioned that she wanted my baby to be a boy, so that my nice could be the only girl. You girls have mo idea how much she loves her. My baby is my moms first grandchild, and when we told her we were having a girl, she was so happy and excited. I just dont know whats up with my mother in law!

I'm sorry, she sounds horrible...if it makes you feel any better, tons of women on this board seem to have bad MILs, lol. Mine lives like 2,000 miles away, so I only see her once a year, so we're basically strangers...which apparently is preferable to the horrid behavior of some women, oy!

I'm sorry, this just enrages me. The way that she is behaving is immature and absurd. I think I would just be like, "Bye!" and speak to her as little as humanly possible. Don't give her anymore of your thoughts or energy.

^^^^ agreed with the Nene gif and another poster she's the one who looks stupid when the baby comes out still a girl like you stated in the first place who cares if she has one granddaughter when baby comes she'll have two if she treats her indifferently then you know how you should treat her. She doesn't get to see baby as much and honestly your H should step in and tell her to cut the act because it's just petty for a older woman to act that way. You don't always get what you want in life.

It's not even worth your time. Seriously. Don't even give it another thought. Anyone who can be picky/upset or in anyway rude about the sex of a brand new gorgeous family member doesn't deserve the time of day.
My MIL is so annoyed that we are team green because she has two granddaughters and wants to know if she will have a grandson and you know what... She will be the last to know. She has no opinion, no knowledge and no say so she's alienating part of her family for no good reason. Her loss.
Just let it go and enjoy looking forward to your pink bundle, I had a girl first and she is just the most wonderful thing on earth.

Whaaat? It's a little strange that she's in denial about the results from a very accurate test. I wouldn't do anything at all. This is your baby, and if someone else has some weird complex about the sex of a baby that isn't even their's, then...well, they have issues.

Just let her think it. She will look stupid at your baby shower when she bought all boy stuff and Everyone else is buying pink. She will especially look dumb at a yard sale you can have next summer when you are selling brand new boy clothes for 25 cents that she wasted her money on

Ugh! That is HORRIBLE! I am so sorry! We did a Facebook reveal last week but we didn't actually reveal the sex u till we had told the whole family first....well we told his sister and she immediately posts the results on FB and tagged us...that pissed me off BUT not nearly as badly as what she said in her post...she said...well we all really wanted a boy but the girl niece will be just fine. Ummm W. T. F. I was LIVID. I wanted a Baby...the sex didn't matter. So....she is shunned.

I feel for you. I find out the sex on Monday and I have a strong suspicion it's a boy, and I'm perfectly ok with it! I already have 2 boys, and I have everyone telling me it's a girl, or calling it a girl. I'm annoyed because as much as I would LOVE a daughter, I'm pretty happy with 3 boys!

When I tell everyone I'm done after this pregnancy, they tell me I should keep going till I have a girl.... Ummmm F that noise!

Tell her if she'd prefer your niece be the special only girl that your mom would be happy to take on all grandmother responsibilities, as she is thrilled about your baby, just the way she is.

Man the more I read all your MIL stories the more grateful I am for my MIL, who is wonderful.

OP, your MIL sounds like a total bitch. Who the hell gets mad at that?! I'd totally put her in her place and tell her if she doesn't smarten up she won't be seeing much of her grandDAUGHTER.

Also, what is with people getting disappointed or whatever about someone else's baby's sex? Somebody at work told me "Oh, you're having twins? I hope it's a boy and a girl so then you'll be a complete family!" Seriously? Because two boys/girls isn't good enough?

Wow, I am cranky today...
