Did you eat your placenta?

I know there were a few people on here who were going for it, I'm very curious to see if it was beneficial. I was one of the people who wanted to do it but my baby was sick at birth so it was out of the question.

Re: Did you eat your placenta?

  • No, all my research said that any benefits were due to the placebo effect, so I opted not to.

  • Ummmm NO! Money better spent elsewhere & i agree with @kyrenora it's not all its cracked up to be
  • I did and loved it! It really helped with the hormones in the first few weeks. I was taking the placenta pills twice a day and now I am down to once a day after 5 weeks. I don't know if it was the placebo effect but for me they really helped :)
  • I'm taking 4 pills a day. And don't think they do crap. Maybe and that's a big MAYBE they help with energy. But I'm suffering from some bad axiety and PPD. I think I'm going to still take them since I paid for them and they can't hurt. Super bummed about It but hey it was worth the try. Sorry that you couldn't try it.
  • thought about it and ultimately didn't go thru with it. Feeling great without it. No regrets here!
  • I have never heard of this. What are the benefits?
  • It's called placenta encapsulation. It's where they dehydrate it and then put it into pill form. The benefits are that its supposed to help prevent ppd, help with energy, increased libido, and overall quicker recovery.
