Sour Cravings: HELP!

I crave sour stuff, and it seems the only thing to settle my stomach.  Seeing as I am having trouble keeping most things down, I was hoping there were some bumpies who could offer advice!

Here is what I have been doing:
Pickles (not sour enough, then threw them up, so out)
Fresh Limes and lemons in water
Tons of Costco Organic Lemonade, which I shouldn't have because so much sugar
Menchies Tart Blue Raspberry Frozen Yogurt (would be great, but need a cheaper option I can buy in the grocery store)

Would love suggestions of stuff I can pick up at the grocery store, especially if there are not terribly full of processed/excess sugar.

  • I was going to suggest sour patch kids, but it's lots of sugar so maybe look into lemon ice?

  • You can try homemade Popsicles or lemonade so you can control the sugar/sour flavors. I'd definitely try to cut back on the store bought lemonade.. Packed with sugar! Maybe some sour candies?

    I have no idea why sour settles the m/s, but it's well know that it does. Strange! I was adding lemon or lime juice to my water all the time in the beginning.

  • Grapefruit? I think anything sour is gonna involve a lot of sugar but maybe not. I LOVED the Simply brand of lemonade. Yum!! But super sweet.

    Lime/Lemon water.
  • I tend to go for grapefruit or just straight lemons. But if you're gonna have a lot of citrus, keep on top of brushing because it'll destroy your enamel.

  • Trader Joes has low sugar pink and regular lemonade, and it's made with Stevia, not aspartame, so it's much safer for you and baby without all the sugar and calories.

  • Preggy Pops come in sour flavors and are for soothing bellies. Check babies r us or probably Amazon.

  • I don't know about how sour this might be for you but I have had similar cravings. I have been drinking tomatoe juice, eating olives and pickles---try a different brand some are better than others, lemon rice soup and Starbucks unsweetened passion tea--you can even buy that in the grocery store and make it at home.

  • My SIL ate lemon jolly ranchers constantly. You could also try those lemonade packets that you put in water, many are low in sugar.
  • I say lemon heads, or some sort of sugar free lemon candy.
    Lemon ice, they sell them at Walmart or any grocery store really

    No no, stay away from sugar free candy. A) fake sugar isn't good for you, and B) holy diarrhea city, Batman, if you eat too many!

  • Some fruit like berries and under ripe mango can be sour
  • No help at all, but my last pregnancy I would have cravings for sour patch kids. I'd go buy the pack and eat then all in a day or two.

  • Saurkraut is my best friend right now!
  • Spanish olives (aka green olives). They're the perfect amount of sour for me without making me do a pucker face.

    Sour patch kids are nice when ya just want a little something but don't eat too many all at once. Not good for ya. I keep them next to my bed and pop a few between meals just to keep nausea at bay. I try to pace myself though. It's a lot of sugar.
  • I am literally eating lemon by the slice right now. I bought a big thing of lemon juice and eat everything with it -tonight I marinated my chicken in lemon, poured some over my pasta salad and thrn ate cherry tomatoes in lemon juice. Its badd and Im sure horrible for my teeth but its all I want!

  • It's not super sour but drinking La Croix Lemon sparkling water always makes me feel better.
  • Outshine makes some pretty guilt-free popsicles, the lemon and lime flavors in particular are awesome and will make your lips pucker!!
    I definitely stopped to buy two boxes on my way home from work one day when I was about 9 weeks, so far those bad boys have been my only craving that I HAD to have.
  • Check the checkout stand a grocery stores for the sour "mints". They're delicious.

  • This recipe was floating around Facebook so I thought i'd give it a go since I had some extra cucumbers floating around.   I wasn't expecting it to answer my sour cravings. 

    Cucumber Salsa

    6 cucumbers peeled and diced  * I don't think you need this many, I think I used 4
    1 can rotel, drained
    1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
    1 pkg dry ranch (you could do your own seasoning)
    1 medium red onion

  • Pomelos! We have a pomelo tree in the backyard (never ate them before and we've lived here 6 years), and I've been eating them almost daily with a light sprinkle of salt (try it-much better than sugar!). Added benefit-pomelos are high in Vitamin C and Folic Acid.

    Recent development: last night DH went out and bought me a new bag! And they were the extreme sour kind which I think are even better :)

  • Not the healthiest at all, but Warheads makes this sour spray that is TO DIE FOR if you're craving sour.

    This & my last pregnancy I needed all of the sour things, and this was my go to for extreme sour needs. ;)

  • When I was super nauseous I craved sour stuff too.  I like Country Time strawberry lemonade and sour patch kids.  Sorry, those are both full of sugar!  Maybe try lemon flavored Italian Ice?

    I am so late on this. But sugar free gummy bear reviews are hysterical. I might pee myself if I watch them now!
  • Look up Limon 7, it's a Mexican candy powder, but it's pretty much only lemon powder and citric acid powder. It's very sour and what I've been craving like crazy lately
