SuNscreen on infants

i know you're not supposed to put sunscreen on infants less than 6 months but has anybody used it or know of a product that's safe for infants?

Re: SuNscreen on infants

  • I haven't used it but someone gave me a bottle of Aveeno baby sunscreen at my shower

  • Cover your baby with a light blanket. Like drop it over their car seat or chair their in.
  • I agree with pp. coverage works best. We're a family of redheads, so we burn easy. We just cover baby with a Muslim swaddle blanket and no burns. If you go to the beach or something, bring a shade umbrella if you have one.

  • What's the happy medium between coverage and allowing them to get a little bit of sun so they can have natural vitamin D? I'm pretty sure that even when you are wearing sunscreen your body doesn't process the vitamin D
  • My pediatrician said "indirect" sunlight, and suggested doing feedings by a window.

  • Asked the pediatrician at LO's two week appointment today, she said no sunscreen until 6 months old & to keep them covered. She recommended the vitamin D supplement...I got some...going to try it starting tomorrow
