Babies: 0 - 3 Months

Moby Wrap

Anyone using the Moby Wrap?
I can't quite get it on right... I don't know if it's me or the product. My baby always ends up so low.
How tight do you pull the wrap when you are putting it on? That's one thing the instructions do not mention.

Re: Moby Wrap

  • I stopped using the Moby specifically for that reason.  It just didn't seem stretchy enough, so baby was either too loose or too tight.  I ended up getting the Sleepy Wrap, which is essentially the same thing, just stretchier.  I can wrap it on me pretty tight, but still stretch it to get DD in.

There are youtube videos on how to wrap them, so maybe you can find one that explains the best way to use the Moby.

  • I only used it for the first month or so. I watched a You Tube video and it helped a ton. I really liked the Moby.
  • Mine always ends up sinking down too low too. I gave up and used a hand me down Ergo. Love that thing. It's so much easier to put on.
  • I used the Moby a lot at first and still use it occasionally with my 12 week old. You have to pull it SUPER tight before putting the baby in, especially if you're doing the kangaroo hold/front wrap cross carry. Honestly, I looked up YouTube videos of other types of wraps and used some different wrapping techniques that arent in the Moby instructional booklet.
  • With the hug hold (pocket cross carry), you want the place where the two sides cross each other (the X where baby's bum will be) to be at belly button height on your body. It should be tight enough that you can fit your elbow into it, but not looser than that.  If you have a local babywearing group, I'm sure they would be happy to help with a hands-on lesson.
