16 weeks and not showing

Hello and Congratulations to all the January moms. I am 16 weeks and not showing at all. I wonder if anyone else is like me. I am a FTM and am 6'1 tall (wonder if that is why). I can't wait for that baby bump. :\">

Re: 16 weeks and not showing

  • I would assume your (most likely) long torso is helping you hold out longer from popping. It'll happen eventually.

Oh hey. Congrats to you too. Everyone's body handles pregnancy differently - I'm 5'3 and didn't show with my first baby until 22-23w.
You'll get there, just be patient. Still have a long ways to go before the baby arrives.
Eta there are a lot of moms still not showing yet, if you search the board you can find numerous other discussions.
  • I have a friend that was about 6 feet tall and she honestly just looked like maybe she had a large chipotle burrito until about 7 months with her first baby! You have a lot more room than some of us! No worries! My sister is 4'11 and she starts showing pretty quick! I think it has a lot to do with how much room you've already got ready in there!
  • 18 weeks tomorrow and not showing. It does look like I have been eating too much, but no true bump yet.
  • I'm 5 feet & popped very early like around 13 weeks I had a bump and I'm a FTM people thought this was my second pregnancy but I'm like ummmm no I've never been pregnant but this once. I love my bump too. I'm now 19 weeks with a very visible bump and a pregnancy waddle.
  • 5'3 and popped at 14 weeks. I have a short torso so I knew I would be popping early. It will come and you will be shocked at the over night growth!!!
  • I'm a FTM, 5'4, 19 weeks tomorrow and it just looks like I had too many cheeseburguers, unless I wear maternity clothes, in which I maybe look a bit pregnant rather than bloated. So...at 16 weeks you might have a few more weeks to go!
  • I'm 17 weeks with baby #2 and still not showing. Haven't told work yet and still in my pre-pregnancy clothes. I looked about 6 months pregnant when I delivered baby #1. I'm 6' tall and the long torso really delays the bump from showing early on.
  • I'm a third timer (16w3d), 5'8" and still wearing my regular jeans and work pants, buttoned, not w am elastic or belly band. I think it's normal for a FTM, particularly a tall one.

  • I'm a third timer 5'5 and not showing at all at 17w5d. my doc told me yesterday that since my ab muscles were pretty tight the baby would grow up before growing out. I know that it's coming so I'm being patient but I can't wait for fall maternity fashion!!
  • I'm feeling comforted reading that I'm not alone. I'm a FTM at 18wks, I'm 5'9" and mostly I'm just feeling like I look chubby, not pregnant. It's a bit frustrating, but I guess we should just count our blessings that we're not super uncomfortable already AND I can still sleep on my stomach for a while longer! :)
  • I'm 5'1 and pregnant with my fourth. 17 weeks tomorrow and not showing at all. Just depends on your body and pregnancy. I didn't show with my other 3 until 6/7 months.
  • 5'3 and popped at 14 weeks. I have a short torso so I knew I would be popping early. It will come and you will be shocked at the over night growth!!!
I am right there with you.  5'4 with a short torso.  I started showing around 15 weeks.  Now at 19, there's no denying I have a baby in there.
  • I am 20 weeks now and still not showing everyone says it's perfectly normal. My best friend didn't start showing until 24 weeks. I can not wait till I start showing its my first child as well. Congrats!!!!!
  • The taller you are long it takes to show usually, but look on the bright side maybe less stretch marks.
