Painful sex

I'm 16 weeks and had sex the other day. It was very painful and just felt different. We hadn't had sex in a few weeks because we were apart and just very busy...I'm a first time mkm so this is all new to me...is sex usually painful or is there something or a certain way while pregnant that can make it fell good? Thanks

I don't really get what you are saying like are the positions uncomfy or the vagina? Usually pregnancy makes everything down there extra sensitive and lubricated so what exactly is painful?

The vagina...it almost felt like he didn't fit...like having sex for the first time all kver again...does that make more sense

I felt like a pulled my groin muscle after the last time. We didn't do anything unusual. It was fine by morning but I've been having more lightening crotch lately anyway so I haven't really been in the mood. Sometimes it's just cramps. Par for the course.

A week ago DH and I got into an awkward position and he hit my cervix, which might be in a different position now with the pregnancy and is extra sensitive. It felt like he hit a wall in there, was fairly painful and scared the hell out of me. I also had somebleeding afterward, but the midwife assured me it was normal and to just choose more shallow penetration positions that were more comfortable. Don't know if that's what you've got going on, but it might be? It's also taking longer for me to get in the mood, and so if we rush it its not as much fun and feels a little raw afterwards, so more foreplay maybe?

That's what I wondered that if maybe he really coukd have hit something because of the pregnancy and it really took me by suprise and was ready to be done because I was so unsure of what was happening

We had to switch up our usual routines because lots has seemed to change in there. We do "it" from the side and good ol' missionary. Safe.....boring.....but safe! I started bleeding from other positions so we just keep it simple........bleh.

Just take it easy! Everything is super sensitive during pregnancy. Find positions that work for you and enjoy it because pregnancy sex can be wonderful!!!

Also, last pregnancy, I spotted a little after sex and the midwife said it was completely normal!

Did you have enough lubricant? You have to get warmed up properly or it can feel pretty terrible

I agree everything feels different, although I didn't experience pain. Positions that used to work don't really work anymore, I.e. my sweet spots have moved !? I did also think it was a bit more snug feeling

With DD#1 after week 16 we couldn't do it at all. EVERYTHING hurt. Not to be TMI but baby was too low and he comes up too high. Things were bumping where they didn't belong! haha!

Haven't had any issues this time around besides only getting around to it every few weeks due to work, taking care of DD, and just being plain ol' exhausted.

Must be pretty normal, because I also feel a little more "snug" than before, and we can no longer do some positions because for some reason they were painful. I'm not sure what we're going to do when I have a big belly, because spooning position hurt, and sideways hurt (him on his side, me on my back, legs over).

On the other hand,orgasms happen much easier, as long as DH uses a gentle touch (sorry tmi but so is this post topic).

There's more blood down there now so things will feel different. Maybe try lube and switch up the positions.

Missionary style has been the only position I can stand. He's tried to switch it up but every other position hits my bladder and then I'm miserable! It's a boring position but we spice it up with lots of foreplay. It also takes me longer to "get going" but I think that's because I'm always worried about the baby. I did get one case of lightning crotch while in missionary, it took my breath away and we stopped for the night. It never happened again though.

Missonary is what we were doing when I felt all the oain...makes me nervous that if that's what still feels good for most of you ladies that maybe there is no more sex for me..

I agree with what others have said about tying different positions and everything being different/sensitive. I experienced a cramp like pain after sex once and when I asked my midwife about it she said its normal but to make sure to stay hydrated. She said that hydrating well throughout the day can decrease cramps/discomfort during sex or exercise. Hope it's less painful next time!

I'm a STM, with my first pregnancy I had no issues, but with this one sex is uncomfortable. It constantly feels like he doesn't fit, dry feeling and still ferls like something is blocking part of my vagina. Plus I feel like I constantly have to pee, I hope it gets better because I definitely did not have this problem with the first. I know my vagina is swollen, but it felt like that with the first too.
